This Week

This week…..

Monday:

Monday morning started off well. James was home from work, and he let me sleep in. I slept in past 8:30 a.m., which was awesome. I can’t remember the last time that I was able to sleep in.

We needed to run to the store, but the kids were not really wanting to go. We made one stop, and Agnes threw a gigantic fit. I thought we were doomed to go grocery shopping. James got her calmed back down, and we were able to get the weekly run done. The boys were great. It always surprises me, when she acts up, the boys act extra good.

I had a few errands to run in the afternoon, and James watched the kids. When I was gone, Agnes crashed out for a nap.

I decided it was the perfect time to finally start working on the accent wall in the living room. We liked the foyer kinda red-kinda purple, so I’m bringing it in to the living room too. The whole house just might end up that color once I’m done with it.

Tuesday:

I finally finished the book that I started reading a few weeks ago. It was quiet in the morning, so I read the last five chapters.

I started the last book in my collection that I haven’t read yet. It’s one that my mom let me borrow.

I think it’s time that I start working on an Autumn reading list…

The kids have been obsessed with Doctor Who this Summer.

This morning there were two episodes on, so they were extra happy about that.

I finished the second coat on the accent wall in the living room, now I really really really want to paint that woodwork.

Wednesday:

Grandma came to visit us in the afternoon. The kids were so excited to see her. She also brought us dinner, which was super nice. I really appreciated the night off from the kitchen.

Thursday:

I decided to clean out my desk a bit. It never ceases to amaze me just how much junk can end up in there.

I baked a few loaves of bread in the afternoon. I love to bake in the Summer, the bread proofs super fast.

Friday:

Friday quickly became a throw-away day… The kids were bored, and fighting, James was working a crazy schedule, I was kinda grumpy, so I gave up, and did the bare minimum.

I did get the laundry done, the dishes washed, meals made, cat and dog fed. I did kick it on the couch and watch a few hours of Doctor Who though.

Saturday:

Batman marathon for the kids, that is all… Thade has been waiting for this day for over a month, one of his favorite channels was showing Batman movies all day, and into the night. So it was pretty much Batman all day over here.

Agnes kept herself busy emptying every single bin in the house several times during the day. She wasn’t too happy when she had to help clean up the mess.

Mia got into the mess party too. Saturday was a very messy day.

This week is the last week of Summer, and I can’t believe that we will be back to school in just a bit. I’m so not ready to get back to it.

Thinking Of Fall

With school just a mere ten days away, and a small break in the weather too, I can’t stop thinking about Fall. It is my very favorite season, and I can’t wait for it’s arrival.

Agnes must be excited about for Fall too. She has been carrying her Hello Kitty book all about Fall  everywhere today.

I think this Fall is going to be quite different from the other ones.

So many of the trees have already changed, and dropped their leaves. The heat was just too much this Summer. I’m sad that there probably won’t be that amazing Fall color that we are used to seeing.

It looks like Autumn is here, but the weather screams Summer.

I’m ready for it though, the crisp, cool mornings, and the rainy days. I seriously can’t wait for Autumn to get here.

This Week

This week August arrived, and so did a major case of the grumpies. I think the grumpiness is due to a combination of ridiculous hot weather, and the impending arrival of school.

Monday:

I got out of the house all by myself. That’s right no kiddos, just me all by myself. I hit up an antique store.

I added a few new items to my collection.

Tuesday:

Tuesday afternoon the kiddos and I went to Thade’s best buddy’s house for a play-date. I got to help put together back to school supply packs with his best buddy’s momma. It was a lot of fun, and I have never seen so many school supplies.

Wednesday:

Wednesday was a grumpy/happy day… My mom was coming up to visit and watch Agnes for the afternoon, that was the happy. The grumpy was that I had to take the boys for school enrollment. Thade wasn’t happy about it at all, but Dylan was a little excited. I was happy that my mom watched Agnes, so there were no temper tantrums at enrollment this time around.

Since my mom was in town, she offered to watch the kids so James and I could go out. We had a fantastic time, I seriously love our little date nights.

We did a little shopping, went to dinner, and drove around town for a bit too. It was nice to get to spend some time with my hubby, and dinner was super delicious too.

James also got me a few “new” vintage pieces of Pyrex for my kitchen. I love them, oh yeah, and him too.

Thursday:

I had planned on staying home all day, and catching back up on my dishes and laundry. However, I remembered that we needed to run out and pay the water bill, so we got out before it was too awfully warm. We took care of the errand, and before we left the kiddos got to pick a piece of candy out of the candy bucket. They were pretty happy with that errand.

I got all of the dishes caught up, and the laundry too. I wanted to start a little project, but I couldn’t think of what to do…

So I de-cluttered some more junk from the house. Oh yeah!

The puppy was mad at me, I had to let her outside a time or two. She protested every time.

The kitty was happy to hang out with me, and he even curled up on my lap for a bit, but then he spotted…

The incoming toddler-hug-the-kitty-attack!!!

He wasn’t too happy about the attack-hug.

Friday:

We finally got a little rain, and the kiddos slept in a bit thanks to the thunderstorm. James was going to be working open to close, and we didn’t have any plans or errands. I decided it was time to clean up the kitchen cabinets again, and see if I can make some room for my Pyrex dishes.

I started off by switching around the shelves. I cleaned out the microwave cart that was housing three years of the kiddos school papers. Agnes and I gave it a good clean, and then we moved all of the kiddos cups and dishes into the cart. Thade likes the new set-up, it is easy to get to everything now.

Then I moved all of the water glasses and coffee mugs down a shelf. I stacked up the Pyrex where the mugs used to be.

The shelf looks so cheery now.

The new rearrangement freed up a little space on another kitchen shelf. Now I’ve got room to stash a few more bowls if I come across one.

Saturday:

We only had one errand to run in the morning, and the kids and I drove around a bit. We were looking for some yard sales, but I didn’t find any. I don’t think the boys were too upset about it though, they aren’t the biggest fans of yard sales.

The weather started to get a little too warm, so we stayed in for the day. The kids watched the Olympics for a bit, and Agnes watched a few dvd’s too.

I kept busy in the kitchen baking Cinnamon Rolls and Chocolate Chip Cookies too.

It was a pretty good week, but I’m really hoping for a break in this miserable weather.

This Week

This week has been miserably hot, and we have been stuck at home hiding out from the heat-wave.

Sunday:

The kitty took over my sewing table, and took an extra long nap in the curtains.

I baked some homemade bread and a dutch apple pie too.

Monday:

Monday was a crazy long day. James had to work till 8:00 p.m., and the boys didn’t want to go to class, because it was so hot.

Tuesday:

James had the day off, so we got out before the weather was too warm, and we took the kids back to school shopping.

Wednesday:

The heat was miserable, and there was no way we were going out in it.

I decided to tape-off and start painting some of the woodwork in the house. This is going to be a long process, we have woodwork that needs painted in every single room.

Thursday:

I took back the sewing table from the cat, and I sewed a couple of lunch totes.

Agnes liked the little lunch totes. She poured her cereal into one of the totes.

Dylan tested for his yellow belt.

He did an awesome job!

Friday:

James had two days of working open to close, so we took him some chocolate chip cookies.

I got two coats painted on the accent wall in the foyer.

Saturday:

I took the pretty new paint upstairs, and painted two coats in the hallway.

The pup has found a way to stay cool. She has gathered up all of her favorite toys and parked herself on an air conditioning vent.

It was a long week, how I wish we could have a break in the weather. On the brighter side, since we are stuck at home, I’m keeping busy painting.
