This Week…

This has been a long week. James has been in TN, and the boys have been sick. We celebrated Thade’s birthday, and the next day he came down with a cold. Dylan is back to school, but after a few sick days, he hasn’t wanted to go. It has been a bit of a struggle in the mornings.

We’ve been keeping close to home. Watching some movies, and enjoying some treats too. The boys haven’t been too hungry with this cold. I really hope my little guys get better soon.

I’m so ready for James to get home, and for the weekend to get here too. Hopefully next week will go a bit better.

Falling Behind

All day I’ve thought it was Thursday… I looked at my phone, and realized that it was Wednesday. I think I’ve been off a day ever since Christmas break.

I finally made it to the store yesterday afternoon. I’ve been bad about putting off trips to the store until the very last minute. It worked out through, the boys helped me unload the car after school.

Today I’m catching up on the laundry that has piled up over the weekend. I’ve been trying not to do laundry on the weekends, but then by Monday I’ve got eight loads waiting for me.

Tomorrow on actual Thursday I think I’ll do some baking for the weekend. I love baking days more then cleaning and laundry days.

Broken Resolutions

It’s only week two into the new year, and I’ve already broken two of my resolutions.

Ugh, so the first one I broke was cutting back on soda. I had cut back to just one can a day, and I was doing pretty good. Then I got sick again, and the only thing that sounded good was Dr Pepper, hello two cans a day. I might have snuck in a late night Mountain Dew a time or two too.

The next broken resolution, finish a project, any project. I decided that this was the weekend that I was going to finish James’ afghan.

I’ve been working on it for over two months, and I’m down to the last little bit. I ran out of Boysenberry yarn, so yesterday I headed out to Wal-Mart to see if it was back in stock. It wasn’t, and I don’t know when it will be back. I still want to crochet though.

There goes that resolution.

I started two new projects yesterday. I’m working on a door draft dodger for the front door, and an all green afghan for Dylan. Hopefully the shades of green yarn will stay in stock.

What about you… How are you doing with your new year’s resolutions?

Staying In

The chilly weather has returned, so we are staying in and cleaning house.

I’ve been putting away laundry, washing some dishes, and giving the bathroom a good deep clean too.

I like days spent at home though. It gives me lots of time to catch up on coupon clipping, and maybe a little crochet too.

I’m still not done with James’ afghan… I need a few more do nothing days indoors.

First Week Of The New Year

Agnes has been going through a shy phase… It is a little surprising, she is the loudest little kiddo in the house.

I’ve been sticking with a few of my New Year’s resolutions. I’m still crafting, I’ve finished two books already, and the kitchen is looking good.

We got the afghan out to see how big it is. It is Dylan sized right now. I think I still need to crochet a few more feet. Better go and get some more yarn.

I spent two days cleaning house, and putting away all of the Christmas decorations. I also got the kiddos rooms organized, and all of the Christmas presents put away. They were lucky kiddos this Christmas.

We’ve gotten out a few times just for the necessities. I’m working on a bit of a frugal fast for the beginning of the month, the end of the month is Thade’s birthday.

I’ve been crocheting in the chilly evenings. I hope to get this afghan finished soon. I have more projects in mind, but I need to finish this one first.

Last but not least. I made a special breakfast for the family on Saturday, homemade waffles.

My Mother-in-law got me a new waffle maker for Christmas. It is awesome. I’m making a big batch of waffles to put in the freezer for quick breakfasts.

Hope your first week in the new year went well too.
