This Week

The Miss and I have been doing odd jobs and chores around the house. I made some homemade cleaner for deep cleaning the bathrooms. I finally cleaned out the living-room toy bins. I also cleaned out my closet, Thade’s closet, and Dylan’s closet too.  We had a big basket full to be donated. It is crazy to see just how fast the kids are growing. They are also growing out of everything!

We had pretty Red Tulips bloom. They haven’t bloomed in years. Agnes was thrilled. She really loves her flowers.

Dylan lost another tooth! Thade had a dentist appointment too.

Miss Mia and Miss Agnes have become the best of buddies. Agnes loves to chase Mia all over the house and backyard too. Mia likes to hide under the side-porch when she is too tired.

Speaking of Miss Mia, she loves to tag along for errands, and to pick-up the boys from school. She really loves visiting a few local spots that hand out dog treats.

I’m still crocheting this blanket for Agnes.

Sometimes my project gets invaded by little Lalaloopsy dolls,

or my giant, lazy, napping cat…

I don’t know if I’ll ever get this blanket finished…

Today I’m getting ready for the weekend. I’ll be baking some cookies, and I’ve already got dinner in the crock pot. There is laundry to put away, laundry to wash, and of course an endless supply of dirty dishes. Better get to it.

Quiet Monday

This weekend was fun, and busy. We had Dylan’s birthday party with all of the family and friends from school on Saturday. The house was packed with noisy kiddos, but they all had a blast. The weather was pretty nice, so the boy’s were able to go out and play a bit.

After the party we hung out in the front yard throwing the football and a frisbee. I made a big dinner for everyone, and we hung out until late in the evening.

The kids were exhausted on Sunday, so we stayed close to home.

Today the boys are busy at school, and the house is once again quiet. There is rain on the way, and the Miss and I are still sleepy from the weekend.

I think I’ll take it easy today, and enjoy the quiet while I’ve got it.

Lazy Days

I was still sick over the weekend, so I pretty much did a whole lot of nothing. Nothing is nice, but holy moly the house is a mess, and the to do list runneth over.

I really hope this week goes better. I have got to get back to normal, and well.

I Lost Two Days

This week started off with the best of intentions. The boys were back to school, and I was ready to do some serious spring cleaning.

Monday Agnes and I tackled the foyer and dining room. We cleaned out a lot of clutter, rearranged furniture, and swept every nook and cranny.

Tuesday ended up being laundry day. I really needed to get to the store, but the laundry had gotten away from me. I had several loads to out away, and many more that needed to make it’s way to the laundry-room.

Wednesday was Dylan’s birthday. We spent the day wrapping presents, and baking lots of tasty goodies. I made his favorite dinner, and completely trashed the kitchen.

So onto Thursday, I really needed to go to the store, but we spent the morning out of the house looking for siding colors. By the afternoon a big storm was rolling in, and that’s when the migraine arrived. I got the boys home before the storm arrived, but I was miserably sick. James picked up dinner, and I appreciated the break from the kitchen.

I was still sick on Friday. This was one of the bad ones… Finally yesterday afternoon the meds worked, and I had just a little headache. I was finally feeling a bit better, so Agnes and I deep cleaned the fridge. That was an overdue Spring cleaning chore.

After that I was really tired, so I made an easy dinner, and went to bed extra early.

We did make it to the store today. Thank goodness too. I’m feeling a ton better, still a little bit dizzy, but better.

It’s funny, I’ve been waiting for Spring for so long, but the spring storms bring migraines my way. I’m going to need to be better prepared for the next one.

Maybe next week will be a little more productive.

Lazy Days

We had planned for a quick little vacation with the kids over Spring Break, but we were  unable to do so. I wasn’t too upset about it though, I saw the canceled outing as an opportunity to rest and relax at home.

We’ve taken it easy this Spring Break, and completely diverted from the daily routine. We’ve stayed up past our bedtime, slept in, and had snacks for breakfast. It has been a nice break from the normal.

The kids have also played, and played. There has been a play-date with the neighbor, and a visit from Grandma. A trip to the park, and out for ice cream too. Lots of time has been spent outdoors, as well as play time indoors.

The boys have been building Lego sets, and Agnes has been busy helping me around the house. Not much Spring cleaning has happened, but a lot of fun has.

Monday will be here soon enough, and we’ll return to the school morning routine. It has been nice to get a little break for just a bit.
