So It Is Summer

The last day of school was on Thursday, and the week was an absolute blur. Every day there was something going on at the kid’s schools.

There was a last minute debate banquet that called for a bunch of cookies for the High School. Thade also had finals throughout the week. There was an awards day at Agnes’ school, and the entire third grade gave a recorder concert. Dylan had a pretty chill week. The Middle School had a dodgeball tournament on the last day of school, he said it was a blast.

I wanted to sneak in a little shopping, and maybe go out to lunch, but I ran out of time. Before you knew it, Thursday had arrived, and it was the last day. I took my kiddos, and a few of their friends to the movies on Thursday night. They were bouncing off the walls, so it was good to get them out of the house for a bit.

Agnes has caught another cold/flu bug… We were at the store on Saturday, she was looking for some Summer clothes, but by the time we were checking out, she wasn’t feeling too good. By the time we got home, she had a bad headache, and a fever. The fever went up as the night went on, but I finally got it back to reasonable before bedtime.

It has been a long week already. I’m trying to settle in to the new routine, and stay sane along the way. It is going to be a long Summer.

Hello March

I am truly thankful that it is March, and I made it through February. February was one of those months in a cycle of the last eight months where everything was just miserable. The weather was miserable, the fever-cold-bug hit, the kids were mad all of the time, and I was a wreck, but today it is March, and I am hopeful.

Another month has gone by

I am seriously bad about posting. February is almost finished and I think this is just my second post for the month. It is strange, there is something constantly going on, but none of it involves me, just me driving everywhere.

Also we’ve had a run in with a nasty cold, so far Dylan and Thade are in the clear. Agnes ran a fever for three days, and James and I were wiped out with it too. I have a good eight loads of laundry waiting for me to catch up.

The kids are constantly busy right now. Thade is competing in Forensics on Friday’s and Saturday’s, that means late nights and very early mornings. He is doing fantastic though, he already has three medals in his first two competitive weekends.

Dylan keeps busy online playing Fortnite , and catching up lots and lots of homework. This first year in middle school has been a challenge.

Agnes is hoping to compete in the Spelling Bee this year. She is sorta enjoying Girl Scouts, we started delivering cookies last week, but then the cold bug hit. I hope we can get all of the local deliveries done this week.

As for me… I’m hanging in there. I have my good days and bad. This Winter has been a difficult one, and my seasonal affective disorder that usually goes away this by Summer’s end has caused me a mess of trouble. I’m going back to the doctor next month, and hopefully we can figure out what is going on.

Other than that, we’ve been stuck in most of the winter. The kids have missed several days of school due to the freezing temperatures and the ice. It has been a very long winter.

Dangit! I missed January

I hate it when this happens, and I miss an entire month of posting, blogging, picture taking, and life in general. January was a very long, strange month. The kids were home more days than they went to school. I was sick the last full week of January. Thade celebrated his 15th birthday, and it all flew by too quickly.

I hope to be back to posting regularly soon. I’m on day five of a pretty nasty migraine, and household duties are piling up all over the house. Better get to it.

Christmas Break

We are on Christmas Break over here, and I’m just trying to hang in there… The house is a mess, the kids are hungry every twenty minutes, and the dishes and laundry are piling up. I’m really, really, really tired. I’m anxiously awaiting January 7th when the house is back to somewhat normal.

I’ll be off and on online, so I don’t know if I will be posting regularly. I’m ready for the new year though, 2018 was a bust.
