Finally, I Get To Make a Dress

This month I have had a few cool sewing gigs come my way, so my sewing machine has been extra busy. Last week a friend asked me if I would help create a dress inspired by Miss Patty Cake for her daughter who is turning 5. I thought the outfit sounded like a lot of fun to sew, and I finally get to make a dress.

Once the pattern was just right, I spent about 3 days working on the dress, when Dylan would take his afternoon nap. Once the dress was finished I couldn’t stop there, it needed something else.

I made a little purse too. I think that with a super cute dress, you just have to have a bag that matches.

The Tree Skirt Is Complete

The Tree Skirt is complete, and so is the Christmas decorating too!

I finished sewing the binding on this afternoon, and I really like how the tree skirt turned out. I think the kitties will enjoy taking naps under the tree, at least until the presents get there.

The Tiny Tote

I’ve got a little preview of one of the Christmas Gifts that I’ll be giving the gals this year… But don’t tell them!

It’s itty-bitty Nico-totes. I’ll be filling them with nifty goodies for all of the girl’s in the family. We also have a MOPS present exchange in December, and I’m thinking about making an itty-bitty tote for the exchange. Hmmm, I had better go and see how much fabric I have left…

Tree Skirt In Progress

I got a pretty good amount of work accomplished on the Tree Skirt, and I think I have about ten more panels to sew on, and about 18,000 strings to cut.

I’m going to finish the top with some Bias Tape, and hopefully this Skirt will be ready for the Christmas Tree.

The Curtains are Complete

Finally, the Dining Room curtains are complete. I started on them early this morning, and I think it took me about 3-4 hours, and eleven yards of fabric, to finish the six panels.

I’m pretty pleased with how the project turned out, but I might go back and line the curtains. That will have to wait until another day though…

Now to get to work on that Tree Skirt…
