Crafty Projects

I’ve been crafting lots of little projects lately.

I’ve gone through the rest of my fabric. I’ve been cutting blocks to finish off Agnes’ quilt. I hope to get it finished one of these days.

I crocheted a scarf for James for his birthday. It is Green Bay Packers colors.

Once James’ scarf was finished, I started one for my brother Rob. It is K.C. Chiefs colors.

I think I worked on Rob’s scarf for eight days.

I got it all done though, and it looks pretty cool. I hope he likes it.

I decided to start one for Thade too.

I finished it in a day. Crocheting has been so much fun, but now I don’t want to stop.

Getting The Hang Of It

Please pardon the pun, but I am hooked on crochet. I have finished my second project, and started my third. I feel like I am finally getting the hang of it, even if my work is still a bit wonky.

Dylan likes his new scarf. I hope to get a few more projects done, and maybe have a comfy blanket made by Winter.

Handmade Costumes

This year the kiddos decided that they wanted to make their own costumes for Halloween. I thought it sounded like a great idea, and a great way to see their creativity. They each have a different character in mind, and it has been fun working with all of the kids getting their costumes just right.

Thade decided he wanted to be Dr. Eggman from Sonic. He drew up a sketch of his costume, and he made me a list too.

He really loves his costume, and he learned a new phrase too D.I.Y.

Dylan decided he wanted to be a cowboy. He already has a cowboy hat, boots, and a good pair of cowboy jeans. We checked out the local used clothing shop, and found a great shirt, and a cowboy belt too.

He loves his cowboy look.

Agnes is dressing as Bonnie from Toy Story 3.

We made a necklace and a bracelet,

and a tutu too.

The kids can’t wait for Halloween!

Craftiness

Maybe it is the coolness in the air, and the promise of cold Winter ahead, but the crafty bug has bit me. All I want to do is stay home, watch Doctor Who, and attempt to crochet on the couch. I might need a hot cup of tea to go with that wish too.

I made a little quilted decoration that I ended up hanging on the front door. It looks cute for Halloween.I might make a little one for Christmas too. I have a stash of Christmas fabric to use up.

I’ve been quilting on the weekends.

Agnes’ quilt is put together, and needs to be finished.

James’ quilt is coming along too.

I spotted a crochet kit on sale, and I thought about giving it a try. Crochet is a craft that I have wanted to learn, and the packaging  said crochet it today, wear it tomorrow…

It took me about four days before I started to get the hang of it. My scarf was a little wonky, but it was fun to create.

Agnes swiped it, it looks pretty cute on her. I hope to make another project soon.

Halloween Crafting

I know it is still over a month away, but I can’t wait for Halloween. I absolutely love it, it is my favorite holiday, and this year I want to decorate like crazy.

I’m trying to hold off until October to start decorating, but that won’t keep me from sewing something Halloween themed.

I had some orange fabric left over from my quilting stash, I pared it with a pumpkin remnant that I had hanging out. I thought about making a table decoration, then I thought about turning it into a runner to place in the large window.

I’ve added more fabric, and now it is about the size of a small blanket. Maybe it will end up being a tablecloth for the Halloween candy table. I don’t know what it is yet, but it has been fun to sew.
