Paint or Paper

Well there is a lot of Spring decorating going on in our house along with the cleaning. Hubby brought me home super yummy breakfast today: Sausage Rolls, and Maple Long John’s, and Donut Holes for Thade they were all so tasty. I got out one of my favorite Wall Paper Books to go through, and get James opinion on a few options.

We need to paint just about every square inch of the house, and I’m finally able to help. When we started the painting project almost 2 years ago, I was preggers, and I couldn’t help at all. Now I’m finished nursing, and Dylan is taking better naps, so it is time to get these painting projects finished.

The kitchen might need to be first. Last Summer I was so sick of looking at the icky wall paper, that I started ripping it down, so we have some very interesting walls at the moment. James and I are both completely sick of the state of the kitchen, and I think we’ve found a paper that we both like. I wanted to do the kitchen in Baby Pink, Black, and White, and I even found graphic Wall paper to match it.  While we were flipping through the book, we found the same graphic pattern only in Retro Light Orange, Light Blue, and Light Green, we both love the colors and the pattern too. The kitchen is going to be a retro 50s throw back, which is perfect for me! I think we have a winner, now I just have to get hubby to place the order.

I can’t wait to get started!!! 🙂 Are you Spring painting too?

Gardening, Maybe…

We got out a little this afternoon, and enjoyed the warmer temps. Even Dylan finally had fun playing in the back yard, he crawled just a bit in the grass. Thade had so much fun digging in the dirt, and he was bummed when it was time to come back in.

There is a little spot in the back yard that might make a nice garden, but Nico was born without a green thumb. I would like to grow Strawberries, Okra, Bell Peppers, and maybe some Squash, Zucchini, and Corn, but I’m pretty sure my garden wouldn’t make it a week under my care. I’ll do a little more research and see if it is something that I could do, it would be nice to have the yummy fresh veggies without paying the grocery store price.

Are you gardening this Spring? What are you planting in your garden?

Little Jobs

Thanks to all of the Ice, I decided it would be a good day to stock up the freezer. I made a big batch of Homemade Waffles, and even Thade liked them. The recipe made 15, and 12 made their way into the freezer for future tasty breakfasts.

This afternoon I’ve been working on a really odd project in the Dining Room, caulking around the wood-work, and the windows. I think the caulking around the windows will help seal out any sneaky cold air, and the caulking around the wood-work looks great. If I can get all of the prep-work finished maybe then we can get to painting around here.

The only problem with looking for seams to seal is that it is hard to stop. I then made my way into the kitchen, to caulk the cabinets, and baseboards too. I had better stop before I get a gigantic headache. It does look nicer, even though it doesn’t look like I did anything 😉

This afternoon I hope to get my neglected Sewing Machine out and fix the upstairs bathroom curtain. I need to find a nice place to sew though, Dylan is not a fan of the noisy machine 😉 It looks like a lot of little odd jobs that I had better get to.

Taking Stock and Making Stock

Today I’m wishing for warmer weather, while my kitty is taking a long Winter’s nap. I’ve been busy getting a jump start on the New Year’s organizing by neatly putting away all of my new kitchen towels. I just love the Coffee Themed Towels 🙂

The kids are having fun playing with their new Cars Tent(Christmas Present from Grandma). I still have no idea where that one is going, it is a little big for the Living Room.

I’ve also been taking stock of what I have in the Fridge, Freezer, and Pantry while working on my January Monthly Menu (coming soon). I finally got around to making some Turkey Stock out of the Christmas Turkey. The stock will come in handy for Soups and Stuffing too.

Its Beginning to Look a Little Like Christmas

I have been one busy girl decorating the house today. So far I have the foyer almost complete, I’m just looking for a centerpiece for the table. I’ve got the tree up, and I just need my hubby to hang the wreath in the dining room Nico+ hammer & nail+ ladder= not a good idea 😉

Check back for some pics of the completed projects, we are off to the store.
