Thinking Of Thanksgiving

I don’t know what it is about this holiday, but I can’t wait for Thanksgiving. I am so ready to stock up the kitchen and cook for days.

I’m planning on serving up snacks for lunch during the football games, and making a big dinner for later in the evening. I hope to have some leftovers for the next day, I’ll probably start decorating for Christmas then.

For lunch so far I have planned to serve:

  • Veggies and Dip
  • Fruit and Cream Cheese fruit dip
  • Meat, Cheese, and Cracker tray
  • Chex Mix
  • Pretzels
  • Vanilla Mints

I’ve planned to serve for dinner:

  • Turkey
  • Ham
  • Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
  • Stuffing
  • Noodles
  • Green Bean Casserole
  • Butter Rolls

Of course there will be lots and lots of desserts.

I’ll be making at least three pies, and maybe some cookies too. There will be:

  • Coconut Cream Pie (for my brother)
  • Pumpkin Pie (for my hubby and Dylan too)
  • Apple Pie ( my Mother in law likes this one)
  • Maybe I’ll throw in a Chocolate Cream Pie just to be sure

I can’t wait to start cooking! How about you… Are you ready for Thanksgiving too?

Fun Days

Between Agnes’ birthday, our anniversary, and Halloween, we have been extra busy over here. It has been fun celebrating all of these awesome days.

Agnes turned three!

She was so excited to open presents. She opened them first thing in the morning.

James and I were celebrating our 11th anniversary that day too.

Later on in the day, we had the family up to celebrate too.

It was so awesome getting to spend time with everyone. We had a blast!

A few days later it was Halloween. It just happens to be my very favorite holiday.

We picked up James at work, and we went to Dylan’s school Halloween costume parade.

The parade was early in the morning, and it was a little chilly.

Dylan the cowboy was looking adorable.

In the afternoon we headed to Thade’s school to watch their costume parade.

It was crowded!

We found a good spot to watch the parade.

The parade was moving fast. I think I only got one single picture of Thade.

As soon as the kids were home from school, they were ready to go trick-or-treating.

We waited till it was almost dusk, and we headed out to walk around our neighborhood.

We walked around our neighborhood, and then we walked around a bit more.

The kids had so much fun, they didn’t want to come home.

It was time to go home though. We had lots of candy to pass out to trick-or-treaters too.

Later on we watched a movie, and we checked over all of the candy.

What  a fun couple of days.

Happy Halloween

Yay! Happy Halloween! It is my very favorite holiday today. I can’t wait for the boys to get out of school, so we can go trick-or-treating.

Hope everyone has a safe and very Happy Halloween!

Handmade Costumes

This year the kiddos decided that they wanted to make their own costumes for Halloween. I thought it sounded like a great idea, and a great way to see their creativity. They each have a different character in mind, and it has been fun working with all of the kids getting their costumes just right.

Thade decided he wanted to be Dr. Eggman from Sonic. He drew up a sketch of his costume, and he made me a list too.

He really loves his costume, and he learned a new phrase too D.I.Y.

Dylan decided he wanted to be a cowboy. He already has a cowboy hat, boots, and a good pair of cowboy jeans. We checked out the local used clothing shop, and found a great shirt, and a cowboy belt too.

He loves his cowboy look.

Agnes is dressing as Bonnie from Toy Story 3.

We made a necklace and a bracelet,

and a tutu too.

The kids can’t wait for Halloween!

The 4th of July!

The Fourth of July was amazingly fun this year.
