I know it is way away…

I know that Thanksgiving and Christmas are a few months away, but I am already stressing about the holidays. The cleaning, the cooking, the constant entertaining of the relatives, the super hyper kids, and then the presents $$$. I can feel a panic attack coming on.

This year I’m attacking the holiday season head on. I’ve already started my shopping. I have my menus and budgets planned for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I’ve taken inventory of the wrapping supplies, no need to buy anymore. I just need to get my rubber stamps out and start on the Christmas cards and gift tags.

Are you already planning for the Holidays? Do they stress you out? If so what are some tips that you have to stay stress free?

All done

We made it through the Christmas season, and I’m exhausted. I’m still cleaning, and organizing the new toys. Thade and I got out today, and ran a few errands, but it is hard to get motivated to do anything. There is so much to be done, it is hard to figure out where to start.

Thade really enjoyed Christmas this year. He had so much fun seeing all the family, and getting to open presents. I think everyone had a pretty good Christmas this year.

Happy Holidays to all!

Christmas Preparations

This year I’m doing pretty good getting my to do list all checked off. We were going to have the big Christmas dinner today, but things changed, and we moved everything to Monday. The only bad part is now I’m in charge of two meals, but I think I can pull it off.

Today I have: pre-cooked everything that I can, baked 4 dozen cookies, washed 5 loads of laundry, cleaned up the downstairs, taken out all the trash, set up the buffet for tomorrow’s breakfast, played Carcassonne with my hubby, and totally won(again), and Thade and I ran a few errands.

Dinner is simmering away in the crock-pot, Thade is down for a nap, and I’m taking a little break. I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas tomorrow!

Cookie Exchange Day

Earlier this week my neighbor invited me to a cookie exchange. It sounded like a good idea, bake 6 dozen cookies, and come home with 6 dozen different cookies, easy enough. I was baking coconut macaroons until 9:00 p.m. last night. I am so tired of cookies, and I’m pretty burned out on baking too. We go this afternoon, so I hope that James and Thade like the cookies that I come back with, but I don’t think that I can eat another cookie.

Thade and I went to the store yesterday to attempt to get his Christmas pictures taken, and grocery shopping for next week. The wait on pictures was 2 1/2 hours, and there were really grumpy people who barked in that they were next. I decided not to wait that long, and just go shopping. I’ll attempt the pictures next week. The store was crazy packed, and everyone was complaining about how busy it was. That’s the holiday shopping season for you.

Itchy Christmas

We have been snowed in the past few days, and I’m attempting to get things decorated for the holidays. I had the new tree in a box waiting to be put up for nearly a week, so yesterday I decided it was time. I got out the new tree, Thade was so excited(he loves Christmas), the cats were so excited to have a new giant box to play in. It took me forever to make sure that every branch was in place, and the lights lit. I took a break and stepped away, and I was itchy. My hands had broken out in little pink hives from the tree. Christmas and I just don’t get along.

I still need to get the second tree up and decorated. This one is going in Thade’s room, but I need lights. The streets are still pretty icy outside, so I don’t know if I will be getting outside any today. The decorating will have to wait just a little bit longer.
