Next weekend is the Big 4th Birthday Party for Thade! He is excited all ready. I’m keeping the menu simple, and budget friendly too. I have a budget of about $25.00 for all of my supplies, decorations, and beverages too. I hope to stay on track, and have fun shopping for some great deals along the way. Party Planning :)

Somebody is turning 4 this month, and he loves Spiderman! Have you figured out who?

It’s Thade!

This morning Thade and I have been talking about Party Planning for his birthday. Thade has some pretty great ideas for his party too. Here is what he’s requested (his words)

  • A Rectangle Cake with Chocolate Icing
  • A Blanket on the Table (tablecloth)
  • Lots of decorations!!!

I’m planning on baking the Birthday Cake, and my Brother and I are throwing around some ideas for Ice Cream Treats for the Party. Now I need to find the decorations and keep them budget friendly. I’m thinking Balloons and Streamers in Spiderman Red and Blue. I think I’ll decorate the Dining Room only, and that way there isn’t too much to clean up after the party.

I need to make the invitations, and get to shopping! I know Thade can’t wait too much longer for his birthday, and we can’t wait to celebrate with him too 🙂

New Year’s Eve Dinner

We are staying in this New Year’s Eve, and enjoying a big dinner. I’m making Rib-eye Steaks, Steak Fries, Hominy, and Chocolate Bundt Cake. We might even pop open a bottle of wine for a New Year’s Eve Toast at midnight 😉

I hope that everyone has a safe and very Happy New Year!

Nico’s New Year’s Resolutions

I’m so excited about the New Year 🙂 I love writing New Year’s Resolutions, but I’m not so good about sticking to them, I hope to do my best this year to keep my Resolutions the whole year through.

  1. Nico is going “Green” in 2008! I want to have our big old drafty house environmentally friendly,  and I’ll be setting up a recycling station outside to help cut down on out waste.
  2. Work extra hard to save money on the Grocery Budget! With 4 members of the family with different tastes it is hard to save $$$ 😉 I’m going to keep using coupons, and searching for the best deals.
  3. Become a Morning Person. This one is going to be hard, Dylan is still not sleeping through the night, and Nico is not too pleasant in the morning. James will greatly benefit from this one, as he will get yummy breakfast in the a.m.
  4. Be a better Home-maker! Keep up with the cleaning, make more items from scratch, and get all of those projects that I’ve been putting off completed.
  5. Plant and Grow a Garden with Organic Veggies, YUM 🙂
  6. Take a little “me time” every now and then.
  7. Spend more time with my Hubby!

Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions? Are you good about keeping them the entire year through?

Christmas Recap

christmas-1.JPGchristmas-2.JPG

This year we tried to keep things as simple as possible when it came to Christmas. We switched the usual Christmas at noon Lunch to Snacks at 4:00 p.m., and Christmas Dinner at 6:00 p.m., and it worked out great! We got to spend a little more time with the kiddos, and there wasn’t the mad rush in the kitchen to have everything done in time. My hubby and I got to sit on the couch and relax while the kiddos played with their new toys.

At 4:00 p.m., the Christmas Party had begun. We had lots of guests, plenty of yummy food, and WAY TOO MANY PRESENTS! After dinner and all of the unwrapping all of the presents, we all gathered around the table to play a fun game called Apples to Apples. I think this one is going to become a new family tradition, we all laughed until our faces hurt. Thanks again to everyone for a fun Christmas 🙂
