The kids went to bed late, and woke up early. I put them to bed on-time, they just didn’t stick to my plan. It has been a long week already. Did I mention that again they all woke up before 7:00 a.m., and again have been fighting with each other ever since 7:00 a.m.
Yesterday I was at my desk for just a bit, when I spotted Agnes’ preschool enrollment paperwork that had been shuffled behind some handmade art from the kids. Just then I remembered that she needs a well child check-up before she can go, I had better schedule that.
We went out in the evening to do a little price comparison not-really-shopping, and that’s when I spotted the supply lists for the big kids! I snapped up two of them and happily showed them to the boys, yep I’m that kind of mom, and after the noise levels and non-stop fighting, it is time for them to get back to school.
So, cut to this morning. I am on the phone with the doctor’s office, and that’s when Dylan chimes in that he needs something, Agnes runs over and punches Dylan, and I’m on the phone saying “don’t hit your brother”, that’s when the very kind scheduler starts giggling. Then I can’t remember Agnes’s birth year, and Thade is whining that the breakfast that he had really wasn’t the one that he wanted, and Dylan is again screaming at Agnes because she has worn his Hulk costume for too long.
By now the very kind scheduler is laughing her butt off, and stating that she is happy that she is at work today. I finally figure out when I delivered Agnes, and separate the two tiny ones, Thade has given up at this point, because the complaints just aren’t working, and I finally get the appointment scheduled. I forgot to have her transfer me to preregister the appointment. I think I’ll wait until snack-time to make another phone call.
I sent the kids outside to play while I wrote out a few bills, I had to immediately bring them back in because Agnes is screaming at the top of her lungs that the boys aren’t playing fair. The task of bill writing has yet to be accomplished.
So the kids are back in, and now moved to separate levels of the house. The boys are still arguing, but at least Agnes is quiet for the moment. Oh goodness, I need another cup of coffee…
