One Sick Kitty

Poor Maddie was pretty under the weather today, so James got away from work to take him to the vet. Turns out Maddie has a UTI with a possible stone. We have to give him meds twice a day, and prescription cat food. The poor kitty, I hope that he is feeling better soon.

Where has the customer service gone

Today I’m off to my local discount store to fill a much needed prescription. It was called in yesterday, but it was too cold to get the little guy out, so today was the day. I spotted the really long line, and decided to go shopping for the rest of my list. We shopped for a half an hour, and headed back to the pharmacy, yet another giant line. I waited, and a really nice guy let me in front of him (thanks to the nice person waiting in line for way too long too), and the Pharmacist said there was a problem in filling my prescription. I was super mad.

Off to another line to wait to see what the problem is, gotta have the Dr’s office call in the prescription again, and wait while it is being filled. I called the Dr’s office explained the problem, relayed the message to the pharmacist’s assistant, and then I get the “do you actually even need to fill the prescription, it is going to be a 10 to 15 minute wait”. This is twice that I have been asked this, and yeah I really do. The previous time it was a three hour wait, and I gave up went home, and came back the next day. And yeah I really needed to fill the prescription.

So off to more shopping, and waiting in lines. Finally the check-out and way too much money later, I’m super grumpy, and sick of shopping! The next time I have to fill a prescription, I’m going to a different pharmacy, I guess they really don’t need my business.

When will Winter be over

It is so cold today, and the ice just won’t stop. It all started last night, rain, then the familiar sound on the roof, more ice for us. I am so tired of Winter and all the cold weather that has come with it (and the super high gas bill too GRRRRR). I am longing for Spring time, and the possibility of leaving the house not dressed in sixteen layers of clothes.

My mom was in town yesterday to help me out around the house, and celebrate my birthday a little early. She even brought my a super yummy chocolate birthday cake, which I will probably finish off today. We got a ton done, made a quick trip to the store, and even got some ice cream, although I think that was mostly for Thade. A big thank you to her for all of her much needed help!!!

Today I’m going to do a few loads of laundry, clean the kitchen, wash dishes, and get my sewing machine out, and work on a few projects. I can’t wait.

Itchy Christmas

We have been snowed in the past few days, and I’m attempting to get things decorated for the holidays. I had the new tree in a box waiting to be put up for nearly a week, so yesterday I decided it was time. I got out the new tree, Thade was so excited(he loves Christmas), the cats were so excited to have a new giant box to play in. It took me forever to make sure that every branch was in place, and the lights lit. I took a break and stepped away, and I was itchy. My hands had broken out in little pink hives from the tree. Christmas and I just don’t get along.

I still need to get the second tree up and decorated. This one is going in Thade’s room, but I need lights. The streets are still pretty icy outside, so I don’t know if I will be getting outside any today. The decorating will have to wait just a little bit longer.

Christmas Spirit?

I’m really trying to get in the Christmas spirit, but after 26 years it just isn’t taking. We’ve been out looking at lights(nothing), I’m watching Christmas decorating shows(still nothing). I still have the tree hiding in the closet, and the ornaments have gone missing.

I have the Christmas dread, the cooking, the cleaning, the family in and out, and needed to be waited on hand and foot, then the clean-up after the big day. Not to mention the wrapping, last minute shopping, and making sure that I have enough food to pull off a meal for ten or so. Yeah, this just isn’t my favorite time of the year.
