This morning after nursing Dylan for the fourth time, I was promptly spit up on again. It was time for a diaper change. I took Dylan over to the changing table, and half-awake got the dirty diaper off, grabbed for a clean one, and heard Dylan laugh. He had peed all over me, the table, and himself. I grabbed a few burp cloths, and cleaned up the mess. I picked up a new diaper, and before I could get it closed, again he is giggling, and peeing all over the table. I scooped up the baby, and headed in to the bathroom for a towel, and to get him clean. Continue reading

A Late Start
Last night I woke up with a migraine and a very hungry baby at 2:00 a.m., and then again at 5:00 a.m. When I finally got up and got going at 7:00 a.m. (third feeding) the migraine was worse. I got both the kids changed, dressed, and downstairs for breakfast. I called my hubby because we were almost out of milk, and I was in no condition to go out for errands. He quickly came home to take care of me and the boys, and brought a gallon of milk too. Thank goodness.
I was still feeling sick at lunchtime, so James took Thade out to pick up lunch. The boys brought me back a vanilla iced coffee (for the headache), and I’m finally feeling better. I got such a late start to the day. It is already too hot to run any errands. I think I’m going to put everything off till tomorrow, and just do some chores around the house.
I know it is way away…
I know that Thanksgiving and Christmas are a few months away, but I am already stressing about the holidays. The cleaning, the cooking, the constant entertaining of the relatives, the super hyper kids, and then the presents $$$. I can feel a panic attack coming on.
This year I’m attacking the holiday season head on. I’ve already started my shopping. I have my menus and budgets planned for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I’ve taken inventory of the wrapping supplies, no need to buy anymore. I just need to get my rubber stamps out and start on the Christmas cards and gift tags.
Are you already planning for the Holidays? Do they stress you out? If so what are some tips that you have to stay stress free?
Another Recall
I just saw this on the news today, Mattel is going to announce another toy recall due to lead paint. I haven’t seen the list yet, but CNN is reporting that it will involve many toys including “Barbie” and ” Cars “movie toys. Great, Thade has a pretty decent collection of beloved Cars toys, I think I’m going to have a grumpy camper today.
What do you think about all of the recent toy recalls?
Spider Bite and I’m Up all Night
Yesterday I was changing Dylan’s diaper, and I noticed a small bruise on my lower left leg. Not a big deal, just something little. Later on in the night the bruise became a perfect purple circle, and my leg started hurting a bit. This morning a the bruise is now a perfect bull’s eye. I don’t know what bit me, but I’m afraid that I might have ticked off a spider yesterday. Thinking back it must have happened when I was filling up Dakota’s water bowl outside, and shaking he dog food bin with my left leg. Great, one of the many benefits for living in the mid-west in the Summer.
Last night Thade was worried that mommy was going to have to go back to the hospital (because of the bite), so his tummy was hurting. He was up late, but finally calmed down around 11:00 p.m. I got Dylan off to sleep too, and he was right up at midnight and again at 3:00 a.m. to nurse. He was acting a little funny though, and wasn’t ready to go back to sleep after the second feeding. At 3:45 a.m. I found out the reason why. He got sick right in my face, and then on my arm, and then all over the bed. Lovely. I scooped him up, and got both of us cleaned up. I put Dylan back in his crib, where he was so happy and playful (he was feeling much better). I went and cleaned up all the messes, without disturbing my sleeping hubby.
Promptly at 7:00 a.m., Thade came in to tell me that he had some really wet pants. His pull-ups had leaked, and everywhere, right through his jammies, all over his bed, and his favorite blanket. I got him all changed, and in to some new dry pants.
What a long and late night. Dylan is back to his little happy self today, and Thade is too. I’m so tired, and the laundry pile is looming ahead of me.
