Trying Not To Complain, But…

I’m trying really hard to bite my tongue, and not complain, but the price of gas is getting OUT OF CONTROL!!! On Sunday Unleaded was at $3.59, yesterday when we ran errands it was $3.69, and today $3.79! That is just too high. Diesel was $4.44 yesterday, I have no idea what it is today, but I know there is going to be another price increase at the grocery stores… GRRRR I’m one Grumpy Nico about all of these prices.

So please VENT away and let me know how the gas prices are in your area 🙂 I’m hear to listen and complain a bit too…

The Calling Continues

I’ll catch you up on all of the details… Over two weeks ago we took in our Push Mower to have a new handle placed on the pull-start, an engine tune-up, and to have the blade sharpened. We left the mower and we were told to call back in a few days and the mower would be ready, at $30.00 no less. Two weeks + later…

We have waited and called waited and called for OVER TWO WEEKS!!! Still no answer at the business, still no mower. We ended up calling our Lawn Guy to come by and mow the Front and Back Yard and guess what it was $30.00, and it needs to be done again, so there will go another $30.00 ; ) GRRRRR! I’m going to call the Repair Shop (again) today and hope for the best, but I’m tempted to just forget it and buy a new mower and be done with it all!

Why does the lawn have to be so much trouble?

UPDATE: I finally spoke with the elusive Lawn Mower Repair Guy and he says to call back in a few days and maybe the mower will be ready then. I GIVE UP!!!

Oh My Aching Noggin

I had a feeling that today was going to be one of those days. We needed to be up early this morning for Thade’s final Soccer Game, and Thade woke up last night at 3:00 a.m. He had a case of the sneezes, and Dylan woke up screaming too. I finally got both of the kiddos back to sleep around 4:30 a.m., I needed to be up around 7:00 a.m. I heard my hubby’s alarm clock ring two or three times and I finally drug myself out of bed at 8:00 a.m.

I awoke to a horrible migraine, and a nasty case of nausea. My head is still stinging at this very moment.  I took some migraine medicine first thing, and I grabbed a quick shower. We made it to the game in plenty of time, but the wind and cooler temps were horrible on my noggin.

I’m so ready to call it a night, and hopefully grab a little bit of sleep 😉

Of Course

So it is one day before Dylan’s first birthday, and my camera has bit the dust : ( I’ve been searching through the house to find the old camera, and it is no where to be found. This is just going to be one of those days…

How Have the Gas Prices Changed You? Nico is Grumpy

I really need to stop watching the news, and reading all of the articles about the rising gas prices. The most recent gas price increase really has me worried. I’m wondering if you have had to cut back expenses to help with the rise in fuel costs?

In a distant past when Nico was just nineteen I can remember filling up my car for a mere $10.00! Last week I purchased a half of a tank of gas and paid $27.50, so if I was completely empty it would have taken  $55.00 to fill my car : (  I drive a gas friendly Impala, this is just crazy.

The gas prices have really changed the way that I think about my driving. I look at the cost of the trip first, and then justify the trip. I don’t like doing that, I miss the days where I could just go and have fun, and not worry.

A trip to the store out of town used to be no big deal, I would make the 20 minute drive, and come back home, but when gas hit $3.15, that trip became a big deal. I can’t justify spending almost $7.00 in gas for one trip to the grocery store.

All of my family lives out of state too, anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half away, that makes those little trips about $30.00 + in gas. Which makes me mad, I used to take off and visit my Mom for the day, and now those trips have become very limited, sorry Mom, and sorry to my Brother too…

Also taking the baby out for an evening drive to soothe those teething troubles hasn’t happened. Yes Dylan has teething pain, and he gets pretty grumpy, but that nice long drive has become a thing of the past, it just takes too much gas.

I don’t want to be completely negative about the situation, but the rising prices seem to have an effect on everything. I’m dreading the trip to the grocery store today, I know I’ll see higher prices on the basics now that Diesel has hit $3.76.

So feel free to gripe, and let out all of those high gas price angers… Let me know how you are doing with all of the increases.
