Four For October

I thought I would re-do this one too, and then I’m all caught up… Last month I set a goal of 10 days without driving, but I only managed 4 days in October without driving. I did make it to the bi-monthly recycling drop off twice though, so I’m happy about that one. I hope to do better in November. I’ll set my November goal for seven days of no driving, let’s see if I can get it done!

My Cats ate My Garden

One of my hopes for gardening was to harvest my seeds, and use them to help plant next year’s garden. It would get me one small step closer towards greener sustainability. I had one Cucumber left, and a handful of Green Beans so I seeded the veggies and got the seeds ready to dry.

I even had a nice sunny window to place the seeds in. They needed to dry for a week, so I marked the paper towel with the date when they should be ready. I placed them in the window, and hoped for the best.

I don’t even think they were in the window for ten minutes, before my kitties found them and ate most of my organic sustainable garden. I was a little grumpy, but I bet the kitties enjoyed the tasty organic treat.

Oh well, so much for next year’s sustainable garden…

So Long Garden

I think my garden is just about done for the season. The weather is starting to turn cooler, and the Autumn rains will be here more often than not.

I  found one teeny tiny watermelon left hiding in the garden. Thanks in part to the cool weather, I don’t think it will grow any bigger, but it might be a nice treat for a little bird, or Spencer…

Five for September

Well last month I didn’t do so good on my “quest for driving less “. I only managed to not drive or ride in a car only 5 days out of the entire month.  Somehow I even managed to find a reason to need to drive even when I was sick with the flu. I’m a little disappointed with myself…

In October I really hope to do better, and drive less. I’m setting a goal of 10 days of no driving, now let’s see if I can get it done!
