Hello To One More Year

When I was ten years old and in the fifth grade, I became obsessed with politics. I decided then and there what my future party would be, and I even wanted to be a political science major when I grew up. The thing that stuck with me most was when my social studies teacher talked about presidential campaigns, and just what it took to be president. One factor, that I remember best, was that you had to be at least thirty-five years to be eligible to run for president.

So with that, today I’m old enough to run for president…

Yarn party anyone?

New Glasses

I’ve been putting off getting new glasses for about ten years. I finally broke down and got a new pair.

I love them! They gave me a brand new look, and the lenses are fantastically clear.

Surprises From My Mom

This week we had a surprise visit from Nana! We girls got to hang out a bit before the boys were home from school. We were so excited to see her. She brought me a few half-birthday goodies too. I just love her!

She brought me lots of vintage cuteness! There was a cool Fire King casserole dish, and some Pyrex too. The kids liked the egg-beater, they had never seen one quite like that before.

They look super cute in the kitchen too. Thanks again Mom!

Help! I’m Almost 33 and I Don’t Know How To Dress Myself

Wait, maybe I should rephrase that. Help! I’m almost thirty three and the way that I dress myself is, well, looking a bit sad. Today I got up, dressed, and I took the kids to school. When we got home, Agnes said “nice pajamas mom”. Ugh, my toddler has more fashion sense than I do.

So I need some help. This weekend James and I are going shopping. He has a convention coming up, and he needs new clothes. I don’t have anything coming up, but I’ve lost 20 lbs in the last year, and I need new clothes. Any suggestions? I don’t need to dress up, but I don’t really want to dress down. I’m a little nervous about going shopping… Help!

Bestest Friday

A few weeks ago, James had a day off work, so I booked an appointment at the day spa. I needed a bit of time out of the house, and a new hair-cut too.

The Courtland Day Spa is one of my very favorite places in town.

Brooke cut my hair into cute layers and bangs. I love it.

I called James to see if Agnes was being good, and if I could swing by the Treasure Hunt on the way home. He told me to have fun, and go shopping. I love the Treasure Hunt. It is a local antique store and flea market. There is always something new in the store, and it is just a few blocks from the Courtland Day Spa.

I walked around the shop, and spotted some really cute items. This sign might need to find a home in my laundry room.

I came home with a box full of goodies…

I found two more pictures to live under the stairs.

I also found a few more pieces of vintage Pyrex. This blue one looks awesome in my kitchen collection.

I couldn’t resist this little cookie jar.

I also picked up two more bowls.

It was a fantastic Friday!
