My Kids Really Are Growing Up

Yesterday, I dropped off my oldest son at his first day of his very last year at middle school. I also dropped off my youngest son at his first day of his very last year at elementary school. Both of the kids told me bye, and were off to their day like it was just another day.

Agnes did well, until we arrived at the drive-way, then she didn’t want to leave me behind. Agnes’ school was completely packed, and there wasn’t enough time to park and walk in for the morning. I asked her if it was o.k. if she walked in all by herself this year. She was a little sad, but she said “I can do it”.

As I waved good-bye to her, and made my way through the traffic, I realized just how much my kiddos have grown. They have grown into amazing big kids, and I am very lucky to be their mom.

They all had a great first day at school, and all three of them were ready to go back first thing this morning. I have a feeling this is going to be a good school year.

First Day of School (finally)

Well we survived the summer, and today we welcomed the first day of school. We got up extra early, and we actually made it out of the door on time.

This year I have an eighth grader, a fifth grader, and a second grader. All three kids are the oldest grades at their schools.

The boys did pretty well this morning. Agnes was really upset at drop-off. She didn’t want to go. I hope that her day has gone well though.

I’m proud of my kiddos. I have a feeling this is going to be a good year for all of them.

Twenty Days To Go

This year has felt like the longest Summer EVER… With the turn of the calendar, we are well on our way to just twenty days left of Summer madness.

We’ve been back to school shopping for most of the clothes, and the supplies are on hand. The school fees are paid, and the kids know who their teachers will be.

Now to stay sane for the next twenty days…

Hello School

Today the boys were up extra early, and ready to go to school. They were a little excited and a bit nervous too. We even left the house ten minutes early. Both of the boys made it to school just fine, and we dropped by to say hi to preschool too. Agnes and I are going to enjoy a much needed quiet day at home today.

I hope the boys have a fantastic day at school. I also hope that they have a great year too.

Thade starts fifth grade today.

Dylan is in the second grade.

Agnes will be joining her brothers this year, she starts preschool in a week.

As for today, we’ll be spending some girl time, and enjoying the quiet. I can’t wait to hear all about their first day back to school though. Happy Thursday everybody!

Getting Ready For School

This week we have been getting back to the school routine, and getting supplies too. Last weekend we took the boys to pick up their new glasses, and all three kids to buy new school supplies too.

The boys like their glasses. I think that Dylan looks super cute in his first pair.

Back to school shopping was a bit harrowing. The boys were none too pleased with shopping for school, but Agnes was extra excited. We came home with everything on three different lists, and even came in under budget too. I’ve got everything organized in the kitchen, and ready for the first day of school.

Last night was preschool enrollment for Agnes. We all went along with her, she was a little nervous. Once she spotted her teachers, and remembered the classroom, she lit up, ran around, and was already making friends. All of her paperwork was in order, and she will start preschool in September.

She was so excited all day for enrollment, she crashed out shortly after dinner. I think all of that preschool planning and excitement completely wore her out.

We still have a few weeks before school starts. I have the boy’s enrollment next week. I hope it goes well, and maybe they will cheer up a little if they spot some of their friends at enrollment too. I’m going to enjoy these last few days of lazy Summer while we have them.
