Please No Snow

Well it looks like I’m heading back to the store today, there is a big snow storm heading our way later this evening. Over the next 2 days we are looking at 3-6 inches of snow, and Nico is not so good in the snow. I hope that it doesn’t get too bad, I have to take Thade for his 4 year check-up/shots on Thursday. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t mind missing that appointment, but he kinda needs to go.

Time to make a quick list, and get to the store. I’ll have to bundle up the kids extra today too, right now it is a balmy 20.ย  Stay warm everybody ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m Tired All Ready

I definitely have the cold today, and the aches to go along with it. There isย  a lot that I have to do, and I hope I can get the energy to get it all done. The weather is going to be nice today too, so the kiddos and I are going to be running a few errands. Here is the plan for today:

  • Wash as many dishes as I can. I was all caught up a few days ago, and now the kitchen is a mess again ๐Ÿ˜‰
  • Laundry, Laundry, Laundry, and maybe some more Laundry
  • Go to Wal-Mart -Groceries
  • Go to Walgreens -Medicine and Coca-Cola Products 3/$9.00
  • Go to the Post Office

I’m tired all ready, and I haven’t even left the house…

Party Supply Day

I think we might get our supply shopping done today for Thade’s birthday party. I just wish it was a little warmer outside, I hate to get the kiddos out in the cold. It will be fun to pick out decorations with Thade, and see what he likes. I’m also walking the toy aisles with him to see what he would like for gifts. Hubby and I haven’t been shopping yet, and after Christmas, we have no idea what to get.

Our little guy is turning 4, any suggestions for cool gifts?

Walgreens Shopping Trip

We braved the awful weather, and made it to Walgreens today! I stocked up on a few items, and saved big too ๐Ÿ™‚ Here is what we shopped for today:

  • Kraft Mac & Cheese for $.59 ea, I bought 3 for $1.77
  • Folgers Coffee for $1.99
  • Puffs Tissues for $.79
  • 2 Liter Sprite for $1.00 (on my party supply list)
  • Sparkle Paper Towels 8 ct for $4.99 (reg $6.99)

My grand total came to $11.31 with tax ๐Ÿ™‚ Using the Walgreens store coupons saved $4.48, and shopping the sale items saved another $2.49, so I had a total savings of $6.97.ย  Not too bad, and we were in and out of the store in under 15 minutes! Its a new Nico record ๐Ÿ˜‰

Shopping Trip Today

Today I had planned on shopping around, and it was just too darn cold to do so. I would have saved a few extra dollars had I run to Walgreens and Dollar General, but with 20 degree weather and 2 kids, I could make only one stop at Wal-Mart. I also noticed another round of price increases, once again not too cool. Here are 4 from my shopping list:

  • One Dozen Eggs $1.70 (this one is actually down $.17)
  • Gerber Puffs $1.92 (up $.24 since the new year)
  • Huggies Diapers 40 ct $10.67 (up $1.13 since last week, ouch)
  • White Flour $1.58 (up $.20 since the new year)

I know a few of the price increases are small, but the Diaper price increase I noticed that one immediately. I did have $7.00 in coupons today, but those little price increases really hurt my grocery budget.

How are the prices in your area? Are you seeing price increases on your Family Favorites?
