Yesterday I got up early, got the boys dressed and ready to go out and do some shopping. I was motivated and ready to get out of the house. I took the boys down to visit dad at work, and Thade tripped and bonked his head. He didn’t feel like running errands after that, and it was lunch time for the kids, so we headed back home. Both of the boys took a nap after lunch, so I finished up all the laundry. Oh well the shopping did not get done, but the laundry did.

I’m building back up my stockpile around the house, and I’m looking for some great deals to help me out. I’m going to get to Walgreen’s this week for paper goods. They have a great sale on paper towels, toilet tissue, and facial tissue too. All of those are much needed items for my stockpile.

Last week at Target I found All Free&Clear Small and Mighty for $3.98, it is $5.48 here. I saved $1.50 on that purchase. Last night at out local Super center I found Purex Free&Clear laundry detergent for $2.98, it is usually $3.47. I saved $.49 on that item too. I always seem to run out of laundry detergent around here, so stocking up helps me out.

I know the savings seem small, but every little bit helps!

Yahoo for Thade and me, we went shopping yesterday, and I am almost all finished with my meal shopping for April. One run to the supercenter in Nevada, and I’ll be completely finished. We did pretty good too, I saved over $24.00 at Walgreen’s, and got a cart full of groceries at Aldi’s for under $30.00, not too bad. I’ve got a pretty decent stockpile of paper towels, and dish washing detergent to boot too.

The weather looks like it is going to get bad this evening, which sucks. It is Springtime again, and that means tornado watches, and severe thunder storms. Better stick up on batteries and flash lights too.

I’m getting my stockpile together for April. April is going to be quite a busy month around here. I’ll tell more about that later. I have my meals planned for the month, and my lists made, now to get the shopping done. I’ve been shopping around for the best deals, and I’m going to be making 4 trips to 4 random stores to get the job done. Hopefully Thade will happily go along. The weather is supposed to be really nice today, and I’m up early, which rarely happens. So maybe we’ll get out and get to 2 stores today. I’m planning on being all finished by Saturday, but you know how plans go, they change often.

I’m trying to go grocery shopping once a month for meals, but I’m finding myself in the grocery store every week. Today is no exception… James has to go to the eye doctor at 10:00 a.m., so I thought that Thade and I would tag along too, and I would pick up a few supplies, milk, bread, etc. I started making a small list, but the list isn’t staying small, it is now over $50.00 and growing. Oh well, we gotta eat.

I’ve got to get in some house cleaning today too, the in-laws couldn’t make it last weekend, so I think on Sunday we’ll have company. I’m also thinking about baking some cupcakes, or cookies. I’m in a pastry mood for sure. I might have to put baking ahead of house cleaning. I guess it is a good thing that I woke up at 5:30 a.m. today.
