Windy Errands

The weather has been great this week, so we are trying to walk as many errands as we can. It was a little windy, but the kids didn’t mind.

We stopped off at the Downtown Pavilion to take a little rest and get some pictures too.

The roses are in bloom all over town, and they are lovely.

On our walks we always walk by “the castle”, it is a beautiful Victorian home. It is also home to an amazing garden.

Their Calla Lilies are absolutely beautiful.

Errands

Usually errands are really unappealing to me, but we’ve been indoors for so very long  that I was actually looking forward to doing anything. The weather was lovely and warm for late Winter, and we had a few spots to visit.

We headed to the car wash to clean up and vacuum out the van. Exciting, I know, but Dylan was extra excited. James took out the sand bags for the Spring, and I was moving the boys to the way back of the van. Dylan was thrilled, he loves sitting in the back. Agnes seemed happy with the new arrangement too. They each have their own bit of space now.

Next was Walgreens… I haven’t been sleeping at all, thanks to a  month full of kids with the stomach flu. My stomach still isn’t on track just yet either. I saw that Walgreens had a great sale on Melatonin going on, and I also grabbed some Papaya. I hope they help, I’m so tired of feeling yucky.

One last stop at Dollar General for napkins and floss pics, and we were done for the day. The little ones were really good too, which was surprising since Agnes has given up naps. She can be a bit grouchy.

Thade has Tae Kwon Do tonight, so I guess I’m not all done just yet.

Happy Monday everybody.

Back To School Shopping

0015

Monday when we went grocery shopping I checked to see if the school supply lists were out. Sure enough they were, so I grabbed one for each of my boys, and decided that we would go sometime soon. Then I thought we had better hurry up and get that list taken care of, so I took the kiddos shopping on Tuesday.

Dylan was excited to go shopping, Thade wasn’t too happy about the idea that school was around the corner, and Agnes was miserable and screamed the entire time. Dylan threw a giant fit before we left the house, and then cried on the way there, the excitement must have gotten to him. So there I was with 3 grouchy kids going back to school shopping.

We made our way though the supplies, and some of them were a bit tricky to find, i.e. only Orange Poly Folders with Brads not a 3 ring binder, and No Purple Glue Sticks! Goodness, I thought I was picky. Thade perked up a bit when he got to pick out red scissors, and a red ruler, red seems to be his favorite color. Dylan was mad that there wern’t as many items on his list, but I got them all checked off, so they are set for school.

The boys were also in need of the usual: clothes, socks, shoes, and you guessed it underwear. Shopping for these items with 2 little boys was hilarious. Thade was embarrassed, but laughing, and Dylan kept saying “underwear” as loud as he could. Agnes was getting really mad seeing the boys pick out new backpacks and clothes, she lost it when we got to shoes. She loves shoes like crazy.  The boys both went up a shoe size over the Summer.

She has grown to and is now in 2T clothes, so I picked her up a new pair of Hello Kitty pajamas, she loves them. I also spotted a cute Summer outfit for her, and the weather doesn’t look like it is going to cool off anytime too soon. It is hard not to pick her up clothes, I have to admit, I love shopping for little girl clothes.

I had a few household items to get, and two hours in to the shopping trip,  the kids were exhausted, and so was I. I am happy to be done though, it is one more thing crossed off my list before the first day of school, which will be here before I want it to be.

So how is your back to school shopping going? Are you all finished, or just getting started?

Coupon Deals From June 23rd

This has been one of those weeks… The kiddos aren’t sleeping, and I can’t seem to get caught up around here at all. Before I knew it, it was Thursday and time to run to the stores. We made three shopping trips, and Walgreens and Wood’s were where I found the best deals. I only got one picture, because the little miss was ready for her second breakfast and she wasn’t too cooperative after all that shopping.

I had a small list for Walgreens… I wanted to stock up on their paper towels, and I saw that Huggies diapers and wipes were on sale too. I also spotted a great deal on BOGO 1/2 off  on contact solution, and I had $4.00 in coupons to help out too. I found all of my items on my list, but noticed that the contact solution wasn’t on sale at our store. When I got to check-out, I asked the cashier to see if I had the right product for the sale, and she said that it wasn’t on sale for BOGO at our Walgreens, but it was on sale at another Walgreens. Luckily I had my Weekly ad with me, and she said that she would gladly honor the sale. I was so happy, and I got the contact solution (reg $8.99) for just $2.50 after the BOGO 1/2 off + my $2.00 coupon. So awesome, and it was an item that was needed for our stockpile. I thanked the cashier a few times, she was really helpful, and super-cool to honor the sale.

Then we were off to Woods. Our local Woods is having a crazy 10/$10 sale going on, and I stocked up on a ton of goodies.

Not everything made it into the picture, the little miss was really mad at me.

I didn’t have coupons for all of the 10/$10 deals, but the savings were too great to pass up. There were pizzas on sale for 10/$10, and most of them came with coupons for $1.00 off of a future purchase. The cake mix was also on sale for 10/$10, and now I’m stocked up for a bit. The cereal was 5/$10, but I had coupons, and a $2.00 coupon (good for future purchase) printed at check-out. They had marked down their Execedrin Migraine medicine, and I had a coupon for 3, so I’m set in case anymore  migraines head my way. The Powerade was on sale again for buy 10 get 5 free, fantastic to have in the stockpile for Summer. My very best deal at Woods was the bagged cookies… They were also on sale for the 10/$10, and I had coupons for 6 of them. I purchased the 6 bags of my family’s favorite treats for just $.50 a bag. Thade was so excited, he even said thank goodness coupons were invented.

I didn’t have any freebies this week, but I was really happy to see the stockpile grow thanks to the 10/$10 sale. I’m ready for tomorrow to get here, so I can clip some coupons, and find some fantastic deals.

Grocery Shopping x 3

To be perfectly honest, I really don’t like grocery shopping. I get grumpy with our local shops, and the prices, and the fact that whenever I take all 3 of my kiddos someone has to stop and say “wow, you’ve really got your hands full”. Grumpiness aside, the shopping must be done, and usually it’s a weekly event.

We needed a day away, let me rephrase that, I needed a day away, so I decided to take the kiddos grocery shopping a town away.  Oddly enough the trip was actually fun. The prices were better, the shelves were well stocked, and they had the raddest shopping carts ever! Also, not one single person stopped me mid-shopping trip and said the dreaded phrase.

The kids were really good too. The boys loved riding in the shopping cart, and Agnes stayed happy, because she had the guys to entertain her. It was strange leaving the store with everything on my list, and no giant headache.

When it was all said and done, Dylan was sad to leave the shopping cart. I asked him why he was so sad, he said “Mama, that shopping cart is going to miss us.” Looks like I found a better way to get the grocery shopping task done.
