Around The Craft Table

I have several crochet projects going on this Summer. Some I craft at the crafting table in the foyer, and some of them I’m working on upstairs. Maybe I’ll finish one of them this Summer.

The crazy granny-square blanket is coming along.

I’ve started making dish-towels. I think they’ll add a pop of color to the kitchen.

Rainbow Dash needed a little mend. That is Agnes’ very favorite “baby”, so that project was taken care of right away.

The Ocean hued throw is coming along nicely. I’m stocking up on yarn whenever I can find it.

I really hope to finish this king sized blanket is finished soon. I’ve been working on it for over a year.

I’m off to the store today. I hope to pick up a little yarn too.

Weekend Project: The Big Kitty’s Blanket

He’s pretty sure that the craft table is his. No matter what project I am working on, he’ll be napping on it.

I had been saving little yarn scraps here and there. I was just looking for the right project to use them. I tied all of the scraps together, and decided to start a little blanket for the big kitty.

I decided on crocheting a big granny-square.

I added in more odds and ends, and crocheted through the weekend.

He loves it too! This was a super easy, and quick project. The big kitty is nice and cozy too.

Completed Crochet Projects: Agnes’ Summertime Blanket

I started crocheting this blanket way back in January…

We had gone to Joplin to do some shopping, and I got to re-stock my yarn stash.

Agnes picked through all of the new colors, and found her favorites.

I really liked the colors that she had chosen.

I had spotted a rainbow striped granny-row blanket on Pinterest, and I wanted to give it a try.

I alternated colors until I liked the look of the pattern.

I also decided to crochet the blanket until I ran out of yarn.

Four months later, and a lot of blanket toting up and down the stairs…

I crocheted through The Walking Dead, and a Game of Thrones.

There were also a lot of kitty snuggles and naps.

I had some tiny visitors too. They looked right at home.

Soon it was May, and I was almost done…

There were only a handful of rows left to crochet. After that it was trimming, and weaving in all of the ends.

That took a bit of time, and a few episodes of House of Cards.

All done! Time to give the new granny-row blanket to Miss Agnes.

It looks absolutely perfect in her room. I think it is a nice weight for a Summer blanket. It should keep her warm without being too hot in the humid KS weather.

The colors are so very pretty too. This blanket was an easy one to crochet, but it did take me much longer than I was expecting. I love the finished project, now onto the other unfinished ones.

Crochet Works In Progress

Well I finally finished a four month crochet project last night. I’ll have the pictures of it up soon.

O.k. here’s a sneak peek of it…

As usual, I still have at least three more unfinished projects that I’m working on.

I started crocheting this throw while we were on vacation. I took along one single hook, and four Ocean hued skeins of yarn.

I think it will make a pretty addition to our room, and bedding, as soon as the yarn is back in stock.

This next one is an ongoing mess on my craft table. I’ve dubbed it the use-it-up-grannysquare-blanket.

I started off by making granny-squares in three, six, and nine rounds. I laid out a little square pattern, and liked the look of it. I am crocheting until I have  twenty finished squares, and then I’ll stitch it together. This project will clean out a lot of the little yarn scraps in my collection.

The last one I have honestly been working on for over a year now…

I wanted a new bedspread for our king sized bed, but I hadn’t found anything that matched my wishlist or my budget. I decided to start crocheting one of my own. I keep this project upstairs, and work on it during the evenings. One row takes me about forty-five minutes to complete, and I’m not even half-way through this project. I’ve lost count of the amount of yarn that has gone into this blanket, and hours spent too. I know it will all be worth it, once this project is finally complete.

And Another Project Begins

Sunday night I was watching a Game of Thrones with my hubby, and crocheting on Agnes’ granny-row blanket.

I was paying close attention to the episode, and crocheting along on auto-pilot. I then crocheted myself right out of white yarn… Ugh!

I still wanted to work on a project, but I really hadn’t planned on making a run to the store anytime too soon. So I started another crochet project. This one is going to be a messy, colorful, granny-square blanket.

The granny-squares will be in all different sizes too. I think this will use up a pretty good amount of my bits and pieces of yarn stash too.

I like the looks of this little blanket so far.
