November’s Clutter Count

November’s de-cluttering went a little better. I was motivated to work on the boy’s room. James also got me motivated to clean out the scary closet.

We ended up cleaning another 391 items out of the house. Many of those items came out of more toy clutter, and the scary closet storage too. It feels good to get a bit more clutter out of here too.

December is my last month that I am counting de-cluttering totals. It has been a fun project for 2012. I’m glad that my house is finally getting a bit more in order.

Let’s Get Started

Monday the boys were back to school, and James was still home on vacation. He suggested that we start cleaning out the scary closet, and decorate for Christmas. At first I didn’t feel like cleaning, but I was glad that we did. We cleaned out a lot of clutter, and we’ve got the house a little bit closer to being ready for Christmas.

The kitty wanted to help too. Every year he eats one of the wreaths, and takes out the Christmas tree. He is a bit of a stinker when it comes to decorating.

We moved the Christmas tree to a different spot in the foyer.

Agnes was happy to see the star up on the tree.

She likes the lights too.

She loves this little Santa. She carried it around all day.

We are off to a pretty good start so far.

I’m waiting for the weather to warm up just a bit, so I can decorate outdoors too.

Almost Caught Up

Today I have been catching up on the dishes and laundry. I was hoping to have most of the Christmas decorating done, but I haven’t even started. Maybe I can start tomorrow.

October’s Clutter Count

Well, October wasn’t a good month when it came to de-cluttering. October was another month where more items were brought in  the house then I could de-clutter out of the house.

I did clean out another 59 items out of the house, so I hope to do much better in November. I really need to get the house in shape for Christmas.

Clutter Check-In

This year I have been cleaning house. I have been focusing on getting rid of the clutter. I’ve been keeping track of my progress too…

  • January 507 items
  • February 481 items
  • March 55 items
  • April 343 items
  • May 300 items
  • June 178 items
  • July 266 items
  • August 156 items
  • September 139 items

If I’ve done my math correctly, I’ve removed 2,425 pieces of clutter from the house. I have a few months left, and there is still clutter to tackle. We’ll see how the rest of the year wraps up.
