Tuesday’s To Do List

I know it is a little early to be posting what to do tomorrow, but I’m stuck downstairs with a little baby that has skipped two naps today, and is refusing to go to sleep tonight. I blame it on the teething 😉 Everyone else in the house is happily snoozing, and I hope to be there soon. Tomorrow looks like another day of a lot to do, and with the cooler weather moving in, I hope to get a few things finished around the house. Here is the plan for tomorrow (pending that Dylan sleeps tonight and I’m not up all night):

  • Vacuum Downstairs (Living Room, Dining Room, Foyer)
  • Sweep (Utility Room, Dining Room, Kitchen)
  • Wash ALL of the Dishes
  • Clean out the Fridge and Freezer
  • Organize the Pantry (and the little microwave cart too)
  • Clean the Microwave (what exploded in there?)
  • Empty All Upstairs Trash Cans
  • Empty All Downstairs Trash Cans
  • Take out the Trash
  • Go To Post Office
  • Clean Thade’s Living Room Table (he has quite a junk pile on it)
  • Put away 4 loads of laundry
  • Find Room for all of the Christmas Stuff (decorations, trees, wreaths)

I’m pretty sure a few things will get added to tomorrow’s list. I really need to get all of the Christmas stuff down, and put away. I don’t feel too bad about it though… Today we went downtown, and all of the City Decorations are still up 😉 I know I’ll feel like the house is a little more back to normal once that task is completed.

Finding a Cleaning Schedule That Works

Mid-Summer I started a Homemaker’s Journal filled with cleaning routines, shopping lists, and menu plans. I stuck to the chopping lists and menu plans, but the cleaning routine just wasn’t working. I’m working on a schedule to keep up with it all. I have a small daily to do list, but there is a lot that needs to be added to the schedule. Here is the old set of Daily Chores:

  1. Feed and Water Cats A.M.
  2. Feed and Water Cats P.M.
  3. Put away Clean Dishes
  4. Wash Dirty Dishes
  5. Wash at least One Load of Laundry
  6. Make Breakfast
  7. Make Lunch (hubby is usually home for lunch)
  8. Make Dinner
  9. Clean Kitchen Surfaces A.M. and P.M.
  10. Get the Coffee-Pot ready for Tomorrow (very important)

With Dylan crawling, and trying to eat everything off the floor I need to add:

  1. Sweep Kitchen A.M. and P.M.
  2. Sweep Dining Room A.M. and P.M.
  3. Vacuum the Living Room 2-3 times a Week
  4. Clean the High Chair as needed
  5. Put away yesterday’s laundry
  6. Clean off the Dining Room table daily
  7. Clean the Living Room daily (pick up the toys, wipe surfaces)

I’m sure that I can think of a few more things to add to the list, and I’ll keep you posted on how the progress is going.  Wish me luck on my new Homemaker’s Journal 😉

Cleaning Time

I’m still in the thick of things in the Cleaning Department. It seems that everything that I cleaned yesterday was undone last night and magically dirty this morning 🙂 I hope I have the energy to keep up with all of the cleaning that needs to be done today.  Here is what I hope to get accomplished today:

  • Empty all of the Upstairs Waste-baskets
  • Empty all of the Downstairs Waste-baskets
  •  Take out the Trash
  • Wash all of the Dishes!!!
  • Wash 4 Loads of Laundry
  • Put away 6 Loads of Laundry
  • Put away Christmas Presents
  • Work on next week’s Shopping List with Coupons

I hope to get started on putting away all of the Christmas decorations too, but we’ll see what all I can get done today 😉

One Last Load of Laundry

Today I’ve been having an off day, I think the lack of sleep has finally caught up with me. I made it about halfway through the dishes, and I finally got to the laundry at dinnertime. Maybe Dylan will sleep better tonight, and I’ll have a little more energy tomorrow. I still have a lot of Christmas presents to put away, dishes to wash, and laundry to wash and put away. We’ll see what tomorrow brings 😉

New Clothes

The end of the laundry is in sight! I’ve just put the ninth load of laundry in the washer, and I’m so ready to be done. My boys received an entire laundry hamper of new clothes for Christmas, that was a lot of plastic tabs to pop off and hangers to remove.

Did I forget to mention that this is the gigantic pile of clothes that was already in the boy’s closet?!?  Hmmm, just where is all of the new stuff going to go. It looks like I’ll be cleaning and organizing for a very long time.
