Thade+Dylan+Silly String= One Big Mess in the Front Yard!
But they did have a lot of fun!
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes for the little guys. We had a long and messy night, but both boys are starting to do a lot better today. They even have their energy back to fight each other, and Thade’s voice has made a return too. He is keeping busy by asking me 18 million questions this morning.
I kept Thade home from school today, and Dylan is pretty mad about Thade being home, but I thought that it would be best for Thade to get in another day of rest. Both of the kids have a few days of medicine ahead of them, and Thade has to take Amoxicillin for the next 10 days. He also has some ear drops to take as needed, they are helping out immensely.
I’m going to try to keep them quiet and resting, but they are 5 and 2, so I don’t think that is going to happen. Thanks again for all of the well wishes, and big hugs to all!
Saturday was one busy day, but I had my Mom up here to help. There were a lot of Easter activities going on around town that I wanted to take the boys to, and I was also hosting Dylan’s birthday party take two (we had to cancel last weekend).
First on the agenda was a visit to the Eggstravaganza at our local community center. There were lots of Easter crafts for the kids to decorate, and cookies too. Thade enjoyed dying his first Easter egg of the season, and Dylan was happy to run around toting his Easter basket.
We then took James some lunch at work. He had to work Saturday, and couldn’t get away, but we had a nice lunch, and the kids were chatting his ear off… We had an Easter egg hunt to go to next.
After lunch we headed over to Thade’s school for an afternoon Easter egg hunt, and it was a blast. There was a story all about Jelly Beans and their meanings, and then the preschoolers got to go downstairs and collect some eggs. Every child got the same amount of eggs, and they were all thrilled when they opened the eggs and saw all of the Easter treats.

The kiddos each came home with a basket full of Easter candy.
After the Easter egg hunt we ran back across town to get ready for Dylan’s party. I still had cupcakes that needed icing, and Nana did a quick pick-up of the house. Before we knew it guests and kids were arriving for the party.
We had the house filled with kiddos, moms, and family too, and it was a lot of fun. Dylan had a great party, and Thade had a blast too. I think everyone had plenty of cupcakes, and there were even a few left for James too.
We had a little party for Dylan at home on his birthday. He was thrilled with his gifts, and Thade was happy to have a few new toys to share with Dylan too.
Dylan wasted no time tearing into the wrapping paper.
We had a party planned for the weekend, but the snow canceled that event. We’ll have to reschedule it soon, and celebrate with the whole family.
Today Thade woke up early, ready to go to school, and then he said “I remember what today is”. Today Thade and Dylan both have check-ups, and Thade has to get his kindergarten shots. He has to get 4-5 of them, but let me tell you this kiddo is a trooper and has the best attitude about his upcoming appointment. I’m a little panicked about him getting that many shots, but I know it is necessary for him to go to school.
Thade also told me that he can’t wait to give his Doctor a big hug, and he is really excited about his shots. I just love this little guy.
I’ve packed along an ouchie kit for each of the boys. My kit has a little note saying just how proud of them I am, and a little favorite snack for the car ride home too. I’ve already promised Thade an ice cream cone at home if the appointment goes well.
Dylan doesn’t have to get any shots, but he will probably act like he does… Wish me luck, this is going to be a really long day.
