Check-Up Today

Dylan has his sixth month check-up today, and he also has to get four shots. I’m also taking Thade along too. I’m a little worried about how he will act seeing his little brother get all of those shots.  The weather is also going to turn nasty today, with severe thunderstorms and the possibility of hail. It is going to be a long day, wish me and the boys luck.

Shopping with a Snugli

Whenever we go out I carry Dylan in a Snugli, and Thade rides in the cart. I often get strange looks and odd comments when someone sees the little guy in the carrier. At least every trip to the store is interesting.

Yesterday we were shopping at Target. My mom and Thade were looking at toys, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to head over to the baby section. I was carrying Dylan in the Snugli, and he was happy as could be. We went to the baby wipe/baby wash isle and I looked at the shelves for some good deals. I noticed a young couple looking at the wipes, and then staring back at me, whispering back and forth to each other. Just then the young man said “Just ask her, she is wearing a baby.” I tried my hardest not to laugh, but that totally cracked me up. Continue reading »

Nope, not a Morning Person

Yesterday me waking up early with boundless energy and a readiness to conquer the day was a total freak accident.  Today I could not drag myself out of bed. I am so tired, and my noggin is stinging.  Thade came in 3 times to wake me up. Luckily my hubby was up early, so he was keeping Thade busy. Dylan is still sleeping, lucky baby 😉

Around 7:00 p.m. last night Dylan started screaming, his gums were hurting so bad.  I got both of the boys upstairs for baths at 8:00 p.m. Dylan was first and then some teething medication and Baby Tylenol, and miraculously he went right to sleep. I hurried and gave Thade a bath too. Then off to bed so Mom could have a little break. Thade was quickly asleep and Dylan slept until 11:00 p.m. 🙂 Continue reading »

The Moth

This has been an interesting week for bugs. We had a cave-cricket invade the living room ( I grabbed a tissue and set it free outside), and a really cool praying mantis on the front steps, but Thade wasn’t a fan of either one. Last night we had an unexpected visitor in the boy’s room. A little brown moth found its way in and Thade was not happy about it. I went in the room and found him screaming “MOP” and frantically pointing at the ceiling. It was just a little moth, not that big of a deal. Thade was a little worried about the moth getting too close, and possibly biting him. Thade then said “get a tissue and get it out of here.” Continue reading »

Late Night in Babyland

My poor little son Dylan is teething, and it is driving him batty. I took the boys out yesterday for groceries, our favorite greeter took one look at Dylan and said ” he looks like he’s chewing bubble gum”. Poor Dylan was grinding his little jaw back and forth to ease the pain. I quickly ran over to the pharmacy and picked up two bottles of Baby Tylenol. I thought I should have one on hand for upstairs and one for downstairs too. Continue reading »
