Hair-Cut Day

Today is a day that Thade has not been too excited about, it is time to give him a hair-cut. He is definitely due for one, and he had pictures on Friday, so I want him to look his best. After his first hair-cut at an actual salon went not so well, I went out and invested in an at home hair-cutting system. The clippers have paid off ten fold, and Thade isn’t quite as scared, so it makes for a much quieter hair-cut too.

I hope it goes well, and I hope the little guy isn’t too grumpy with me 😉

Warm Winter Coat

Well I almost got all of the errands run today, I didn’t get to Walgreens. I forgot to pack along the Snugli, and Walgreens carts are a little small for a toddler and a car seat. Oh well we’ll go out tomorrow when the kiddos are going stir crazy at home.

I did get the Wal-Mart run accomplished, and Thade found a nice Winter coat. It seemed a little funny buying one today, the weather was so nice. It will come in handy tomorrow when it is 44 and cold.

I found a nice white shirt for Thade to wear for the Christmas picture, lets see how long it stays clean 😉 I also picked up a little blue fleece zip-up jacket for Dylan to wear in the picture too. I tried to find items that would look nice for Christmas pictures, but they could wear again for other occasions.

Yummy Lunch and Temper Tantrums

My Mother-in-Law was going to be in town today, so I thought it would be nice to take her out to lunch. We decided to go out to Pizza Hut, they had a buffet, and Thade would definitely eat there. She came by at 10:30 a.m., and Dylan had just gone down for a nap. Normally Dylan sleeps a half hour to an hour tops, today he decided to snooze for about two hours.

Finally he was up at noon, and Thade was starving. I fed Dylan quickly, and we headed out the door. We get to the restaurant and Thade has a giant melt-down. He was starving, but didn’t want to eat, he didn’t want to sit, he did not want Mommy going to the buffet at all. He calmed down a bit once he saw that they had Pepperoni Pizza. We had a nice lunch, and I made sure to get seconds 😉

I got all caught up on all the good gossip, and we went through some Christmas present ideas too. All in all it was a pretty nice day. The weather cooperated too, it is 70 degrees in the middle of November. I love it!

Dear Camera Please Talk to the Computer

I’m having a heck of a time getting pictures to load on to my laptop this morning. So camera please talk to the laptop and load already 😉

Last night went so much better. Dylan seems to be feeling pretty good, and yesterday he sat up all by himself without any assistance. He was pretty happy about that, and me too. I know any day now he will be up and crawling. Then again he will be up and crawling, and into EVERYTHING…

I’m feeling much better today too, the evil headache has left my noggin. I’ll be doing lots of cleaning up around the house today as Thade has turned every square inch of the downstairs into a toy box, and I’m sick of stepping on Lightning McQueen. As always the dishes and laundry need to be done too, and the trash needs taken out. Better grab another cup of coffee and get to it.

Noon and Nothing has been Accomplished

It all began with bath-time last night. I noticed that the little one had broken out in quite a rash, we both thought it would be best if I got him out to the doctor quickly. We were both worried that he had an allergic reaction to his baby food, James stayed home with Thade and I took Dylan out to Urgent Care.

Dylan was not too happy at all. It was late, cold, and he seemed pretty sure that he was out there to get a shot. I was grateful that our hospital just opened Urgent Care, they stay open until 11:00 p.m., and we were in and out rather quickly. The Doctor said that it was baby eczema, it was irritated by cold weather, and too many baths. O.k. so I’m in a little trouble for over bathing my son, who knew… I was given a prescription to fill on Saturday.

We went back out in to the cold, and headed home. I think it was around 9:30 p.m. when we made it back, and Thade was ready for bed (so was I). I was getting everybody settled down, when James said there was another problem… One of his lenses had popped out of his glasses, and we could not find the screw from the frames anywhere. Luckily we had an eye-glass repair kit on hand. I tried and tried to fix the glasses, but had no luck. In this time though, I had to get Thade off to bed and Dylan was not happy. Dylan screamed at me for a good hour and a half, while I tried desperately to get the teeny tiny screw into the frames.

Finally at 11:00 p.m. (after nursing Dylan for the 2nd time) Dylan drifted off to dreamland, and I finally found a screw that fit the frames. Yahoo! I repaired the glasses, and happily presented them to my hubby, and then I called it a night too.

Everybody was up bright and early today. At 10:00 a.m. I thought we had better get out and get the prescription filled. Off to Walgreens we go, again, third trip this week. I took both of the boys, and hoped this would be a quick trip. We get to the Pharmacy, no lines, all right, but as usual there had to be a problem with something.  For some reason the insurance card was not playing nice with their computer system. A good 15 minute wait, and Thade getting pretty grumpy. The Pharmacist said I could go shop and they would call me when it was ready.

We walked, and walked, and walked… Thade mad in the cart, and Dylan getting heavier and heavier in the Snugli, my noggin was splitting. An hour had passed, I decided to head over to the Pharmacy and see what was going on. They said that the prescription hadn’t been filled yet, but they would hurry. Another fifteen minutes, and finally the single magical tube of calming baby cream was filled, and we were all ready to go.

It was noon by the time that we made it home, Thade was starving. Time to go and make lunch for all the boys, and find some migraine medicine for me. I still haven’t started the laundry from yesterday, the dishes are piled of every possible surface in the kitchen, and I’m completely exhausted. This is going to be one of those days, Starbucks take me away 😉
