What a Long Night

Last night was one of those nights. Thade was up late and Dylan was up on the hour.  I think Dylan is having teething troubles, and today I am completely wiped out. I had such high hopes of getting a few things accomplished today, but my mind is so starved for sleep, that I can’t seem to figure out what to do or where to start on all of the tasks.

There are a few good sales going on at Walgreens and Dillons this week, I bet I could find some pretty good deals on Christmas dinner supplies. I don’t know if I have the energy to go and shop though.

How I wish I could fit in a long nap 😉

Going Shopping

My hubby and I are going shopping today. We are Christmas shopping for the boys, it is going to be fun. Thade is so excited about Christmas this year, he can’t wait. I’m still a little panicked about the Holiday Season: the shopping, the cooking, the entertaining, the stress really gets to me. I’m working on it though 😉

My mom is coming over to baby-sit today, so I know the little ones will have fun too. Thade is feeling a little under the weather, I hope that he is up and feeling better soon. At the moment he is crashed out on the couch watching some cartoons, he doesn’t seem mind that Dylan is playing with all of his toys… He must be sick 😉

I hope that we will get all of the shopping finished today, for the kids anyway… I still have a few things to get for my hubby and a dvd to order for my brother. After that I’m all finished! Thank goodness 🙂

How is your Christmas shopping going? Are you completely shopped out, or still have a few presents to pick up?

Thank Goodness Its Over

Oh my goodness, we have had quite a time getting those Christmas pictures taken ( I hope the Grandmas will be happy). Thanks again to my hubby for taking off work early to help out with the crazy kiddos, there is no way I would have survived the task on my own. I do have to say that our photographer was great and very patient.

Where to start… Dylan (who hasn’t spit up in months) went through a change of clothes before we left the house, so we dressed him with the plan of changing him as soon as we arrived. We got Thade dressed in a nice white shirt, and we quickly got the kids in the car before Thade had an opportunity to spill anything on his shirt. He loved his shirt and called it his “handsome shirt”.

James took Thade and we signed in at the Photography studio, I took Dylan for a change of clothes. I got Dylan onto the changing table, and he started screaming at the top of his lungs. He was so loud that the boys could hear him on the other side of the store. Dry pants, cute clothes, a few cuddles, and he was calmed down and we were good to go.

Thade was happy too, he was playing and ready for pictures.  Then the dreaded photography table made an appearance and Thade completely lost it. James was holding Dylan, and Thade was clinging to me for dear life. My first attempt at placing him on the table resulted in two little fists digging their little sharp claws into my neck with all of their might. Wow I’m going to have quite a bruise tomorrow. Finally we got him on the table, I still have no idea how, and he wasn’t happy. Then it was Dylan’s turn to sit on the table of doom, he was o.k. at first. All quickly changed, he screamed and cried when the first bulb flashed, and there were so many pictures left to take.

Both of the kids were not happy, but we all worked together to get the pictures taken. They turned out really cute, even though it was a hard hour of screaming and crying kiddos. We even saw a few pictures where Thade actually smiled, but not Dylan he is way too serious. Next year I’m thinking about staying home and taking their picture in front of the tree and calling it good 😉

Picture Day and Good Intentions

Last night I formulated a plan that on Friday morning I was going to get up early, and get a few things done around the house while the kids were asleep, and try to squeeze in a little “me time” as well. Everything seemed to be going as planned, Dylan was up and fed at 5:30 a.m., and then I decided o.k. I’m going to stay awake too. After nursing Dylan I placed him in his comfy crib, and everything went wrong from there. Little Dylan (who usually sleeps in till 7:30 a.m.) decided that today he was going to get up too. He screamed and cried, and demanded to be picked up and carried around. I gathered up the grumpy guy and we went downstairs to make James breakfast and start some coffee for me.

I got James his super yummy breakfast, and he was off to work at 6:30 a.m. By that time I was exhausted, and my back was killing me. Dylan is not an easy child to hold, he squirms, and kicks, and really likes to hit mom in the face, and mom isn’t too cheerful at 6:30 a.m., nor does she like having all of her hair pulled out by an eight month old. I gave up and finally got Dylan back to sleep, and I went back to sleep too. I seem to be a little more cheerful with a bit more rest and a little more coffee 😉

Today is also Christmas Picture Day, and I’m already worried. Last year’s Christmas photo session was a mess. I was preggers, and Thade was not happy, at all. He did not want to smile, sit on the table, give up his blanket, it was such a rough day. The photographer was so nice, and she was very patient, so I’ve requested her again this year.

Last year’s pictures took forever, but she was one determined photographer. After many attempts she finally snapped one almost smiling, not sitting up straight, and clutching his blanket for dear life picture, and we called it good. I hope things go a little smoother this year, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

Wish me luck, I have a feeling this is going to be a really long day 😉

New Hair-Cut

Here is my little mop-top before his hair-cut today. The first picture is him telling me that he really doesn’t want his hair-cut

And here is the after, so much better 😉 Thade wasn’t too happy about getting a hair-cut, but after I was finally finished he really liked his new hair. He also said that it was time for him to cut my hair, because my hair was fluffy. I don’t think I quite trust Thade with the clippers 😉
