Bread Baking Days

I love to bake Homemade Bread on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Those are the days that Thade is home from school, so there is plenty of time to bake. This week we loaded up a few supplies and headed over to Shaunna’s to bake the Tuesday Bread.

Shaunna has an amazing kitchen, with tons of counter space. We had plenty of room to roll out the Bread. The kids had fun running around the house too. She made us a tasty lunch of Sausage Jambalaya, and Mac & Cheese for the little guys. The little guys were so tired after lunch, so Dylan took an extra long nap that day.

I think that Bread Baking days will be a fun tradition for both of our families.

  1. Yum, there is nothing better than the smell of homemade bread. I bet that kitchen smells great today!

  2. It was a great day and the bread is so good!!! Anytime you want to use my kitchen you are MORE than welcome to!!! Or to just get the boys sleepy! 🙂 See ya soon!!

  3. Nico- sounds like a blast! I am glad you have a girlfriend you can hang out with! I finally packed up Jake’s summer clothes today with both under foot. next is the baby’s then mine.. Hubby wants them all packed up by this weekend so we take them to my brother’s attic. Is the bread making hard??? I’ve never tried!

  4. ps. I have a helper (college age cousin) coming by for a few hours this afternoon to play with the kids while I run errands. Very happy about not having to go out tonight and miss family time.

  5. Thanks Marva! It was a fun day, and the weather was perfect for baking! The kids all had fun too, and I really appreciated Dylan’s extra long nap, it gave me a little extra time to finish some chores around the house.

  6. Thanks Susan! I agree, Fresh Baked Bread is the best. Too bad we can’t find a candle scented like Fresh Baked Bread 😉 Since the weather is finally cooler, I’ve been living in the kitchen and baking non-stop.

  7. Thanks Shaunna! Thanks again for having us all over, and for the super tasty lunch too. The kiddos had so much fun, and I so happy that your family enjoyed the Bread. See you soon 🙂

  8. Thanks Heather! Wow, great job getting your Summer wardrobes put away! I still have a few Summer clothes in the boy’s closet, the weather is still a little warm in the day, but cooler by evening.

How was your trip to your Mom’s? I hope that you all had a fun week! That is great that you have a helper, I bet that you will get so much done! I could really use one around here.

The Bread baking is a lot of fun, but it does take a bit of time. I don’t use a Bread Machine, so I have to really pay attention to the clock, but it is so worth it! The whole house smells yummy, and homemade bread makes the best PB&J’s 🙂

  9. I had fun with my mom and grandma. yesterday was a chore getting back into a routine for the boys and I alone while hubby worked. My family spoils me when I go up to visit, with feedings and changing the boys. But it’s always nice to be home.
What is the weather like there?? We are having such pretty days in the 70s. I’m hoping to take the boys to the park today to play and get some energy out.
did your gas price come down?? Ours did!!!!!! I’m enjoying the break of stress when filling up the tank! Have a wonderful weekend!

  10. Thanks Heather! It sounds like you had a great week, and a nice break too. The weather has been nice here too, we are seeing upper 70s during the day, and 40s-50s at night. The leaves haven’t changed too much though, I am anxious to see some pretty Fall colors.

Whoo Hoo for the lower gas prices 🙂 Today Regular Unleaded was at $2.89, so much better 😉 I hope that you are having a great day and enjoying the beautiful Fall weather!
