With disappointing July savings ($2.75) past me, I’ve managed to save a bit more in the month August. I shopped smarter and took along my coupons too, and saved $8.70. That brings my year to date total up to $148.47, and I hope to have even more savings this month.
How about you… with the recent grocery price hikes are you saving with coupons, or finding alternative ways to save those precious grocery dollars?
It’s hit and miss here. I have to shop 3 or 4 different stores, and it just tires me out. I have begun to really appreciate canned and frozen foods, for both cost and convenience! I buy what’s on sale and plan our meals around that. I even go to 1 store that marks down all of their meat and produce 50 – 75 % off at 8:30 PM that will expire the next day. I found out about that by asking the head cashier a bazillion questions. Saving money is really hard work!
Thanks Mimi! I know saving money is really hard work. I shop 3-4 places, but the stores that I really want to shop at are out of town. Then I have to do the gas money math and usually just end up shopping locally. I’m working on a big Aldi list and hope to get there soon.
Great job on the meat and produce discount find, I bet that really helps to save a bundle 🙂 Keep up the great work 🙂
