Usually I keep a little quiet on my blog, and keep it family friendly (and not too gossipy) but this made me feel the need to raise my bloggy voice…
10 plastic surgeries in one day! Seriously she is only 23 years old, this is disturbing!
So it brings me to the title of my post. I’m almost 30, and a mom to three kids, and I don’t look like I did when I was even 25, but I have the strength to accept myself (wonky vision, funny nose, and yes even my baby weight) for me.
It makes me sad to see the pressure that is put on women to be perfect and plastic, and I do not want that pressure put on my daughter. I want her to have the strength to be happy with herself no matter what. Acceptance is beautiful!
It is sad the pressure society puts on people. It is starting so young. Liam told me the other day he thought he had a problem with belly fat. I sure hope I can raise them to be more accepting of themselves than I am of myself. : )
I think I actually feel sorry for her. She will never know life as we know it Nico………contentment (sp.?).
And yes, acceptance is beautiful……… I agree 100%!
Blessings!!!
It is sad to see how much pressure teens and young adults face, and it is equally bad for males and females. Super skinny bodies, super white-fake veneered white teeth, hair extensions, plastic surgery, colored contacts, name brand clothing or you are so out, on and on. Oh, and have you noticed that fake eyelashes are back in?
It’s really sad, and a lot of moms put pressure on their kids to “be perfect.” Meaning to look good. I’m sure that your baby girl will grow up happy and proud of herself.
My New Year’s Resolution this year was to be myself and to enjoy being me.
Some people are so into themselves, I think it’s a mental illness!
