I was finally sound asleep last night, when all of the sudden my hubby woke me up and said that we were under some awful severe weather. Half awake I turned on the TV, and yep there were tornado warnings everywhere. He ran downstairs and cleaned out the Christmas Supply Closet, just in case we needed to get in. I was a little worried the winds picked up, then I heard that there was a tornado on the ground near where my Mom lives, so I had to call her at midnight (sorry). She wasn’t upset about the late call, and she was talking to my brother he was worried too. She said that everything was fine, but they had some serious straight line winds.
We stayed up way too late listening to the winds and waiting for the sirens. Finally we were all back to sleep at 1:00 a.m. Thade slept through the entire storm, but Dylan was wide awake and mad (teething). This morning I was planning on getting up earlier than usual, it is Thade’s second day of Day Camp, and I wanted to have plenty of time to get ready. At 6:45 a.m. Thade runs in and jumps on the bed and screams “wake up Mommy”. He got up as soon as he heard Daddy wake up at 5:45 a.m., and he was dressed and ready to go to camp. He had even made a trip downstairs to see if Nana was here, she is visiting later this evening. Thade really loved Day Camp 😉
My goodness I am one tired Mommy today, and we still have an hour and a half until Day Camp time. I might have to make a little trip to McDonald’s for a Large Iced Coffee this morning, I am in desperate need of energy 😉
Oh Nicole……that’s sounds like some scary weather! It’s great you were able to check on your family and everyone was safe! Hope you made it to McD’s for your iced coffee…..we all need a little pick me up now and then 🙂 Hope Thade has a great time at camp today! Ellie
Wow, that must have been so scary for you. I hope today’s weather is better, that has to be just awful to live with.
Thanks Ellie! We have some wicked weather in the Midwest, and the storms have been really strong this Spring. There were a few trees down this morning all around town, thankfully everything looked fine at our place, just a few little tree limbs down. I hope this is the last of the bad weather for awhile 🙂
Thanks Susan! The weather has been really bad this year. Spring and Summer is Tornado Season around here, but we usually don’t see too many storms, this year has been completely different. We have had so many bad storms go through, and it is just the beginning of the season. I hope to see some nice calm weather soon 🙂
I would be really scared and probably would have stayed in the closet all night. We had some tornadoes here in southern California about a week ago. Scary!

Thanks Heather! I’m so tired today, but we had a fun day! They are calling for another round of nasty storms tomorrow, so I’m going to get to the store early and stock up on diapers. Thade was too cute this morning, and he couldn’t wait for Nana to arrive 🙂
