A Little Project

This week I finally cleaned and organized the Foyer. After all of the cleaning was finished,  I decided to work on a little project. I grabbed my level and a screwdriver, and I hung a little Coat Rack for the kiddos.

I hung the Coat Rack right by the front door, at Thade’s level. There is plenty of room for their Winter coats, and Thade’s backpack too. The best part, the kiddos can reach up to grab their own coats, and they are responsible for hanging up their jackets too.

I used a basket that I already had on hand to store all of the Winter hats and scarves. I hope to find a little wooden step-stool (that I can paint) to place under the coat rack as a mini shoe-rack. Maybe I’ll come across one at the Spring time yard sales.

All in all I’m happy with how the project turned out, and I love how neat and tidy the coats are. Now time to get the living room organized (again)… the projects continue.

  1. Good for you! It always feels good to finish a project! I laughed at your last few posts, rang familiar with me – the dirty dishes piled up, kids extra crazy, yearning for adult time. I did get away this afternoon for a few hours to visit with family and shop with my mom. Her and I never have alone time any more, so it was really special to just be us girls!!! Did you and James have fun last night?

  2. Thanks Heather! That is so great that you and your Mom got to hang out and spend some girl time. I bet you both had a blast. I miss getting to spend time with my mom, I wonder if I can talk James into letting me have a girl’s day 😉

I really needed a little break from the kiddos, and they had so much fun getting a night out too. Locally, there is a sitting service once a month at a Church, and for $1.00 per kid you get 2 1/2 hours of babysitting. They also serve the kids dinner, and they get to watch a movie and make craft projects too. Last night was the first night that we took the boys, and they loved it. There were a lot of kids there that Thade knew, and he had the best time. We will definitely take them again.

We had a strange/crappy night out. Where we were going was packed, and our waitress didn’t get any of our orders right, the food wasn’t too good, and both James and I have wicked tummy aches today. It was fun though to have a night out, but next time I think we’ll stay in 😉

  3. That’s too bad your night out was rough at the restaurant. The church babysitting sounds awesome!I am thinking about joining a MOPS group. The MOMS group I went to wasn’t for me as far as the kids are always with you and they are very unorganized. Plus no christian conneciton so I know someone who did MOPS for several years and she recommended this group to me. we’ll see.

  4. Nico- I am trying to find the post for your homemade cinnamon rolls?? Do you know where I can find them??Want to make them for tomorrow while we are all home.

  5. Thanks Heather! Check out a MOPS meeting 🙂 They are a lot of fun, and I have met some of my best friends at our MOPS meeting.MOPS has really helped Dylan get over his separation anxiety too, he now loves to play in the nursery with the other kiddos 🙂 I highly recommend MOPS too, let me know if you go to a meeting…

I’ve found the cinnamon roll link for you too:

  6. THanks for finding that recipe. Can’t wait to make them! I’ll let you know about the MOPS group- what I find out. H

  7. You are just so crafty! And to Heather- make sure and search out a good MOPS group. You will love it!

  8. Thanks Stacy and Nico for the support- I’ve been feeling a little out of it and lost lately, overwhelmed with my two little ones and being home all day with them. I appreciate your push- i’ll keep you updated on how it goes. Hugs right back to you!

  9. Thanks Heather! I hope that you give MOPS a try, I know it has done wonders for me and my kiddos too. I know just how overwhelming two little guys can be, and just how stressful Motherhood can be too. Sending big hugs your way 🙂

  10. Thanks Stacey! This was a fun project, and I hope it keeps the foyer a little cleaner 😉

MOPS is such a great group, and I know that it is a great place for Moms and kiddos too 🙂
