For my birthday party I made a Three Layer Cake. I had planned on making a Four Layer Cake, but I got a little nervous cutting into the layers. The Three Layer Cake worked out just fine, and I had fun dying the middle layer the perfect shade of Pink. I used just 2 drops of Red Food coloring to half of a prepared White Cake mix, and let Thade stir away. He was surprised when the batter turned pink, Food Coloring is just too much fun.
I used Valentines Day Chocolates for the topper. Some were solid chocolate, and some were caramel, both were yummy. I picked up the Chocolates at Walgreens for 50% off. The candies made a tasty and inexpensive cake topper.
I’ve got another birthday party to plan for next month, but this time I think I’m going to stick to Cupcakes 😉
Your cake looks great! Even though I am feeling guilty about the half a box of girl scout cookies I have eaten today, I would still love to have a piece of that cake (preferably one with a caramel heart).LOL
Great job Nicole! Looks yummy 🙂 Ellie
What a delicous looking cake! Yum, I bet it was great!
Thanks Maggie! I ordered Girl Scout cookies just last week, I can’t wait for them to arrive. The Caramel Hearts were my favorite too 🙂
Thanks Ellie! It was fun to make but it took a lot of icing. The pink cake was my favorite, it was a great shade of baby pink.
Thanks Susan! The cake was very sweet, and lots of fun to make. My oldest thought that I should have had a Pirate Cake, he wanted the icing blue and a Pirate Ship on top. I’m not that good with the cake toppers, just yet 😉
awesome job nico! Looks so yummy!!!!! /my birthday is in October…….;)
Blessings!!!!
Thanks Marva! It was fun to make, and it took about 3 tubs of icing, so it was super sweet too. I wonder if I can mail you one for your birthday 😉
Cake is a very good thing! i love the pink layer. Wish I had some…
Thanks Mimi! That is my favorite one too, pink is my favorite color 😉
