Shopping Trip

Now I remember why I don’t shop on Saturdays, our local Wal-Mart was jam-packed and super busy today. It took over an hour and a half to make it though the store, the kids and I were exhausted by the time that we made it home. I think I’ll stick to my Monday shopping, and avoid the crowds.

I also noticed major price increases on many items in the store today 🙁 Most increases  were on staple items, and they were all on my list: Milk, Aluminum Foil, Baking Soda, Margarine, Bananas, and a few more all went way up in price.  About $.20-$.50 an item, not too cool. Time to find some better deals, and look for some sales 🙂

  1. Nico, the price increases are hitting me hard here! The lowest priced eggs at the grocery stores are 2.49 a dozen. I have to got to Rite Aid and buy them for 1.29 a dozen. Don’t get me started on meat prices…..

  2. Ouch Mimi! Wow those are some pretty high prices, I was surprised to see all of the increases yesterday. It is getting harder and harder to save those grocery dollars 😉

  3. Yes, I know about those high prices too. Milk is $5.99 a gallon for name brand and $4.89 for generic at Wal-Mart.

Yesterday was not bad there ( as far as the crowd). Of course I was childless (for the trip, hubby kept the twins). I got in and out and was glad to get home.

    Hope all is well! Hugs!!!!

  4. My goodness Marva, that is really pricey for Milk. That is so nice that you had great day shopping 🙂

  5. I hear you! 🙂 I’ve noticed prices going up, up, and up here too…..doesn’t seem quite as bad though as the rest of you gals…..still though, it hits the pocketbook hard! Ellie

  6. Thanks Ellie! I was surprised at how many of the increases were on staple items, it now costs a little bit more to make foods from scratch. I guess they get us one way or the other. Hope you are having a great weekend!
