Earlier I posted a long list of dream house wishes, so I thought I would share a few of my favorite spots in our home. That way my house doesn’t get jealous, because I’m neglecting it with my silly dreams and wishes.
Our house was built in 1905, and we are on a block where most of the homes were built in the late 1870’s. I’ve heard that the original court house in town burned in 1905, and all of the original records were lost. Our house might be a bit older. Our house is also a work in progress, we have been painting and working on projects for about five years now. I have so many projects that I would love to accomplish, if I only had an extra eight hours every day.
I love our stairway, but I feel this insatiable urge to paint every square inch of it.

You see my desk is tucked under the stairway and I get to see all of these pretty little details, but I think they would just pop a bit if they were painted.

Also I grew up in a house with antiques, and we were not allowed to paint any woodwork. So there you go, rebel me must paint everything!

One more view from my desk. It is pretty, but it just needs a little something.
All over the house we have kitschy vintage doorknobs. Sometimes they acquire a little maintenance, but they are really cute.

We also have a a leaded glass door, and one large leaded glass window.

The window is really pretty when the tree has budded out in Springtime.
Throughout the downstairs living room and office there is really pretty crown molding.

Some I have painted…

Some I have not, but I really want to, as soon as I have the time.
So what are your favorite places in your house?
Very pretty, indeed!
Fav spots in our home is the kitchen, the master bedroom and the family room.
Our living room with exposed brick wall on one side. Really cool and original! Also the archway between the living room and dining room. Our townhouse is later 1800s and there is something wonderful about the way houses were built back then(to last).
I grew up with antiques, too. I totally get why you want to paint everything! I have no appreciation for old wood, sad to say!
My favorit place in our home is our patio, which of course is outside-hope that counts. I also love our family room with it’s big windows to see the backyard from and our little “office” where I spend a lot of time. Our house is very open, and the office is the only room besides the downstairs bathroom that has a door. Lack of privacy is what I dislike the most!
Have fun painting or staining that wood.
I love your house Nicole!! Love the windows, the doorknobs and the wood. Old stuff is way cool 🙂 .
