To be perfectly honest, I really don’t like grocery shopping. I get grumpy with our local shops, and the prices, and the fact that whenever I take all 3 of my kiddos someone has to stop and say “wow, you’ve really got your hands full”. Grumpiness aside, the shopping must be done, and usually it’s a weekly event.
We needed a day away, let me rephrase that, I needed a day away, so I decided to take the kiddos grocery shopping a town away. Oddly enough the trip was actually fun. The prices were better, the shelves were well stocked, and they had the raddest shopping carts ever! Also, not one single person stopped me mid-shopping trip and said the dreaded phrase.
The kids were really good too. The boys loved riding in the shopping cart, and Agnes stayed happy, because she had the guys to entertain her. It was strange leaving the store with everything on my list, and no giant headache.

When it was all said and done, Dylan was sad to leave the shopping cart. I asked him why he was so sad, he said “Mama, that shopping cart is going to miss us.” Looks like I found a better way to get the grocery shopping task done.
What is up with that? Everytime someone says that to me I wonder if the kids look like they are out of control or something. If I didn’t “have my hands full” would they be better behaved or something? I really love when I get that question and I am only out with two of the three kiddos.
Awesome! Glad you had a good trip! People always say that phrase with the twins in tow and I always respond, “yes, but you should see my heart -it over flows”!!!
Love you friend!
I loved those shopping carts, too.
I always got stopped and asked if my kids were twins and how did I manage with twins. Oh well, who knows-I guess people are just trying to be friendly. Glad you found a store you like. I have been driving to a little store about 10 miles away just because I am like you and tired of those prices and the hassle!
Hope you have a great weekend!
lol shopping with 3 you should have to take 5 under the age of 15. My daughter and sil take all the kids cause its costly for a babysitter and sil likes to go with to. But the kids are pretty good in the stores I must say. I have braved 3 of them at 1 time in Walmart. Glad you got out and to a store that is well stocked and not so pricey. I am fortunate that we have a Aldi’s and Save a Lot when in 1 mile of our home and helps keeping are grocery bill down even just the 2 of us. Have a good week
I am probably in the minority….I love to go grocery shopping….I don’t like coming home and putting it away though….that’s what teenagers are for 🙂
I understand your frustrations, several friends say that to me with just the two knowing I’m pregnant also. it always makes me grumpy. Way to go on the fun grocery trip!
Thanks Meggan! I’m glad I’m not the only one that this happens too 😉 Grocery shopping drives me crazy!
Thanks Marva! You are too sweet, I might have to borrow your line.
Thanks Mimi! I’m reallt trying to find the best prices for our grocery dollars, and the kids loved that shopping cart too.
Thanks Vicki! I would love to have an Aldi in our town, they are a great place to save on groceries. Sounds like a fun shopping trip with your grand-kids 🙂
Thanks Ellie! You can go grocery shopping for me anytime 😉 Glad you have great helpers too.
Thanks Heather! My kids love to go to the store, but grocery shopping makes me crazy. Hope you are doing well. I bet your boys are getting excited for the new baby to arrive.
