Last night was another long night, James was up rocking a screaming Dylan until midnight, and I continued well past 1:00 a.m. Finally Dylan fell asleep for just a little bit, but woke up at 3:00 a.m. to eat. He wasn’t the only one, I could hear Thade yelling “hey mom I’m up”. Once Dylan was all finished nursing, I went in to check on Thade, and I got him back to sleep too.
Thade was up and ready to go at 7:00 a.m., but mommy wasn’t. I woke up sneezing, coughing, and with two very swollen tonsils. I finally caught the cold that I was trying to avoid. Great 🙁 I decided to check my symptoms online, and home remedies too. I love the first remedy: rest as much as possible, I don’t think that one is going to happen any time soon 😉
I’ve put a call in to the Doctor on call, as our family Physician is off today. I’m waiting to see if I should bring the kiddos in, or not. I know that most of the children’s cold medicines have been pulled from the shelves, and with me nursing I don’t know what is safe to take. It sounds like it is going to be chicken and noodle soup for me, but rest I don’t think so.
Any advice to get me and the kiddos back to normal? Do you have a homemade remedy that helps out during the cold and flu season?
