More Sweet Treats

I had some Heavy Whipping Cream leftover from the Chocolate Ganache, and although I would just like to down the entire pint, I think I had better do something else with it… So let’s make some homemade Whipped Cream.

You’ll need:

  • 2 large mixing bowls
  • Several trays of ice cubes
  • One Pint Heavy Whipping Cream
  • Vanilla Flavoring
  • Sugar (to taste)
  • A whisk, or a hand-mixer for when your arm completely tires out, like mine did.

Fill a large mixing bowl with the ice cubes, and set your second bowl on top. Add in the Heavy Whipping Cream, and whisk away. Then when your arm gets completely tired, and your kids come in 15 times asking what you are doing, switch to the hand mixer, and get the job done.

Much better, now whisk away.

Keep an eye on the Whipped Cream, and stop whisking when the whipped cream gets to a soft peak. Gently fold in a little vanilla, and add sugar to taste.

There you have it, homemade Whipped Cream. This would make a great topping for Strawberry Shortcake, or even Waffles. Mine is going on top of a Chocolate Pie, and hopefully I’ll have enough leftover for another dessert or two.

O.k., just one sip… I couldn’t resist!

Your kitties that always hang out in the kitchen would probably appreciate a little bit too.

  3. I love whipped cream so much I buy mine though not that domesticated and I can get the light whipped cream.

    You feed you Kitties whipping cream? My vet told me never to give mine any milk type products cause it can cause crystals. However I do feed my kitty peanut butter cause she will not leave me alone if I am eating peanut butter and bananas

  5. Lol I never even thought about making my own whipped cream before! That looks yummy and easier than a meringue top for a chocolate pie. I want to win the lottery so I can have a B&B and have you help me!

  6. Thanks Marva! It is fun making desserts from scratch, and homemade whipped cream is well worth the effort. The heavy whipping cream is pretty good in coffee too though 😉

  7. Thanks Mimi! I have a family who loves to snack, and I find that if I can make it from scratch, it really saves a lot on the grocery budget. I like it too though, I love to spend time in the kitchen 🙂

  8. Thanks Vicki! I like the premade whipped cream too, but every once in a while I like to make it too. I know my kitties totally talked me into giving them just a bit, but they split the little plate. One of my cats is obsessed with baked goods and yogurt, and if I’m in the kitchen so is he 😉
