The Night Out

I would love to say that our night out was so much fun, and the food was amazing, and we all had the best time, but nope nope nope…  At least the kiddos had a blast at the sitters, but more about that later.

It all started when we dropped off the kiddos, and we headed off to the restaurant. We were getting a table, and the place was already packed. As we were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive 30-35 people walked in and the little waiting area was packed. Our friends made it quickly, and we (luckily) grabbed our table, and then the waiting game begins.

We waited a bit, and went on ahead and ordered drinks and appetizers, and made up our minds on what we were going to order. When our server made it back, we started to order our meals, and they were out of our first choices, second choices, and so on. So we decided on the fifth choice, and we waited and waited and waited.

I saw a few of my MOPS friends, so went over to say hi to my buddies.

When our order finally made it, nothing was right. James steak was rare and mooing, he ordered medium-well, we didn’t get the right sides, but we watched them get delivered to the other table. I ordered broiled fish, and I thought yummy, and it was eeww yucky. My shrimp didn’t taste right, but the salmon was pretty good.

James lost his appetite, and by the time that we were finally getting out of there, my stomach was killing me. Both James and I went home with unpleasant tummies, and my sickness carried over into all day Sunday.Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be going out to eat any time too soon.

At least the kids had fun. Locally there is a Church that offers babysitting services once a month for $1.00 a child, and the kids had a blast. The Church feeds the kiddos dinner, has fun craft projects and plenty of playtime, and they even get to watch a movie too. My kids loved going, and Thade can’t wait to go back.

We will definitely be doing the date night again, but I think we will stay at home, and I’ll cook.

  1. Oh no! That stinks! Well, at least the kids enjoyed their night out…that sounds like a great babysitting service.

Hope you guys are feeling better today, I hope you didn’t get food poisoning 🙁 .

  2. Thanks Susan! The kiddos had so much fun, and you can’t beat babysitting for $1.00 🙂 We are definitely taking the kiddos again.

I wondered if we had food poisoning too, we were both really sick. We are both doing better today, thank goodness.

  3. Awww, I’m so sorry your night out didn’t go as planned! What a bummer…..at least the kids had fun. Hope you and James will be able to get out again soon! Hope you are feeling better 🙂 Hugs…..Ellie

  4. That sounds like my mom’s night out there. A complete flip flop of my trip. I hope you are feeling better now. I love stomp nights but haven’t been for quite some time. I need to get together with you soon and get my blog figured out! You could have a really fun night out with the Relay kickoff tomorrow. Well funny at least. With the retro theme comes crazy attire for the committee. I hope the others dress up too.

  5. Hi Nicole! Don’t give up, try a night out again and I bet it’ll go smoothly.
That must be a really busy and successful restaurant to have run out of so many choices!
What a great deal on the babysitting, and I bet the kiddos had a blast.

  6. Jake got to bowl for the first time tonight! Way too cute! I knew of a small bowling lane on a nearby army post and we went there for dinner and bowling! Has Thade ever bowled?

  7. Thanks Ellie! I was so glad that the boys had fun, and Thade can’t wait to go again. I hope that James and I will have another night out soon, it was really nice to have a little break from the crazy kiddos 😉

  8. Thanks Stacey! Your relay group sounds like fun, I hope that you have a good time at your meeting 🙂 We had quite a night out, but the kiddos had a great time. Thade came home all smiles, but Dylan was missing Mommy.

Stop by anytime, and I’ll help you out with your blog. I know you will love it 🙂

  9. Thanks Mimi! It was quite a night out, and I hope that we will get to go out again. The babysitting service was great, and the kiddos loved it 🙂 I can’t wait for the next date night 🙂

  10. Thanks Heather! It sounds like Jake had the best time 🙂 We love to bowl too 🙂 We have a cool bowling alley about a half an hour away, and it is one of our favorite places to bowl.
