The Winter weather has kept us indoors the past few days, so I have been busy in the kitchen making some tasty goodies.
I’ve baked Strawberry and Apricot Thumbprint cookies, that I loved, but my kids were not fans of this cookie.
I even drizzled the cookies with Vanilla Glaze, but nope the kids wern’t buying it.
Today I made a batch of Snickerdoodles for James to take to work tomorrow.
I saved a few for Thade for when he is feeling better.
Lastly I made a quick Apricot Bundt Cake for us to enjoy for dessert.
The Apricot Bundt Cake has become one of James favorites.
I’ll be baking Christmas cookies on Sunday, and I can’t wait to get started. I just hope the weather is better on Monday, the boy’s and I will be taking cookies around then.
How is your holiday baking going? Have you been busy in the kitchen too?

The kids nust have thought ou were sneaking in something healthy!
They look really good! I could go for a cookie and some coffee now.
Thanks Mimi! I bet you are right 😉 I really liked the thumbprint cookies, I might make another batch for Christmas goodies 🙂
It all sounds so good! Are you doing all of the cookie making you did last year? How many did you end up doing last year?
You always do such a good job!
Blessings!!!
Thanks Marva! I looked it up and last year I baked 34 dozen 🙂 I don’t think I will bake quite as many this year. I think I have about 12 dozen to bake, and I’m planning a take home cookie/bread buffet for the family, so I’ll be baking pies, cookies, and breads for that. I’m anxious to get started on all that baking 🙂
I have a very good Butterscotch brownie recipe for you to try out! SUPER fast and easy and also low in fat! 🙂 How are those cute little boys doing?? I MISS THEM and you of course! 😛 They always put a smile on my face! Hope to see ya soon!!!
Much love,
Shaunna
I’ve been so busy doing baking for the school bake sale and organizing other school stuff that I haven’t had time to do much baking around here. I’ll have to catch up on it next week. Can’t believe Christmas is a week away already!
Hey Nicole, I served your thumbprint cookies to our workers on wed. night and they were gone in second. They were a serious favorite! Jared said he’d pay money for them. They were a hit!
Thanks Shaunna! I bet your Butterscotch Brownies were awesome 🙂 They sound so good. The boys are doing better today, but they still have runny noses. I hope that you and your family are doing well. Sending big hugs from the little guys and me 🙂
Thanks Susan! Wow it sounds like you have been really busy! I hope that things slow down a bit for you over Christmas 🙂 I’m looking at the calendar to make sure that it is right, I can’t believe that Christmas is only a week away too. My kids can’t wait though 😉
Thanks Angela! You made my day 🙂 I’m baking another batch of the thumbprint cookies for the Christmas dessert buffet. Now I’ve just got to work on becoming a freelance baker 😉 Sending big hugs your way!
