Today was Firefighter day at Preschool, and Thade couldn’t wait to go! He still had a little cough, but he really wanted to be at school to meet Sparky the Dalmatian, a local Firefighter, and tour a Firetruck, but the day fell short. About 20 minutes after I dropped him off at school I received a phone call from his teacher that Thade was sick, and I needed to come and get him, quickly. Poor little Thade was in tears when I picked him up from school, he was so sad that he would be missing out on Firefighter Day.
You’ve probably already guessed it, we all have the Cold/Flu again, and this time it has gotten all of us. James was home so sick yesterday, and Dylan was in the beginning stages of coming down with the Cold/Flu. Today the Flu found me once more, and I’m miserable once again.
This afternoon I put Dylan for his nap, and I hoped that maybe he would take a nice long nap, so I could rest a little too. Thade is still a little on the wonky side, so he was happy to crash out on the big comfy chair with Mommy. I think I napped for about 2 hours, and I woke up just in time.
At 3:00 p.m., Thade heard a knock at the door, and then he started hopping around yelling “Shaunna’s here, Shaunna’s here!”
Our dear friend Shaunna, had dropped by to bring us Brownies, Fruit Juices, a very sweet get well card, and a book for me to borrow. She is just too sweet, I really appreciate all of the treats, and Thade was super happy to see tasty homemade brownies.
Somehow she knew that Dylan was in need of Apple Juice (his favorite) and the Orange Juice really helped my sore throat. Thanks again Shaunna, we love you!
So tonight we are going to take it easy, and I’m hoping to call it an early evening. I already have dinner made, thanks to the freezer, and Hot Vegetable Soup is calling my name. I’m ready to go jump in bed and watch the Season Finale of Project Runway, and get some rest.
Oh Nico! I hope you feel better soon! We’ll be praying for you alla quick recovery! the boys are sick too…we’ve been to the peds office today. No school for them either!

Thade is still sad today that he missed out on the Firefighter day at school. I was thinking (once we are all back to better) we could take cookies to the Firefighters, so Thade could see the Fire Station. I just feel so bad that he was so sick…
That is a great idea! I have a friend that is a cop that I can get ahold of and see if he can give him a tour of the car and truck and meet the dog. I think we can pull something off for him. He talked about it all the time. Poor guy!! Are you guys any better today?
Thanks Shaunna! That would be so awesome 🙂 Thade would be thrilled to get take a tour and meet everyone. He is still awfully sad today, but he is feeling better. James and I still feel a little under the weather, but Dylan slept better, so we all got a little extra rest. Thanks again for everything! Sending big hugs your way 🙂

My heart goes out to Thade- they are so little and don’t understand when things don’t go as planned. That tour sound fun!!
Thanks Susan! Thade was so sad to miss Firefighter day at school, but his teacher saved all of the handouts for him. All of the kiddos received a little Fireman’s helmet, and his teacher passed along one to Dylan too. The brownies did cheer up Thade a bit though 😉
