Well I guess it is never too early to start decorating for Christmas… Yep, that’s right, you are looking at Christmas lights, in October! When I took Thade to school this morning, I noticed that most of the Christmas lights are already on downtown, hmmm maybe they are starting just a little bit too early this season, the leaves have barely changed. Thade thought it was pretty funny though.
The spring-summer-fall season (it’s all sorta rolled into one) is so short here, no one ever takes their Christmas lights down LOL.
Have a lot of your neighbours put up Halloween decorations?
Our small town gets into Halloween/Fall decorating on their porches. I enjoy taking the boys on walks in the evening now in the wagon and pointing out the fun decor!
We are going to decorate inside this week. Yes- I think it is too early for C-mas decorating~!! But I did start shopping already! Anyone else??
Off the subject- Nico, are those totes you have made for gifts easy to make?? Would you mind sharing the pattern if there was one?? I am thinking of making some for a few friends for C-mas gifts, if I can borrow someone’s sewing machine. Thanks- heather
Thanks Susan! I love it, it is Christmas all the time in your neck of the woods 😉 If I ever got ambitious and put up outdoor Christmas lights, I probably wouldn’t take them down either, too much work 😉
On our block it is mostly Mums and Pumpkins, but a few blocks over they go all out. One house has “Zombies” coming up from the ground, and another as a graveyard, and on Halloween the homeowner’s dress up and scare the crap out of everyone, all in fun though.
We were out for a walk the other day, and Thade spotted the “scary house” and he didn’t want to get any where near it 😉 It was broad daylight, but he was still pretty nervous about that house.

I thought the Christmas lights downtown were funny, I wonder if someone just forgot to turn them off 😉 I agree with you it is a little too early to decorate for Christmas, but I’ve already seen many Christmas decorations up at Walgreens. So you have Halloween to the left of the store and Christmas on the right 🙂
The totes were very easy to make, and fun to embellish too. I need to get a tutorial up on my site, if the boy’s will give me a little time.
A tutorial would be lovely! No rush, I know all too well about nap times and how more often than not mommy needs a rest too. I am off to do just that!

I like Christmas lights, but I’m surprised that they’re on so early. They can really run up an electric bill!
Thanks Mimi! I agree, I love the lights, but not the bill. I still have no idea why the lights are already on downtown, I wonder if they are checking the bulbs for the upcoming holiday season 😉
