Broken Resolutions

It’s only week two into the new year, and I’ve already broken two of my resolutions.

Ugh, so the first one I broke was cutting back on soda. I had cut back to just one can a day, and I was doing pretty good. Then I got sick again, and the only thing that sounded good was Dr Pepper, hello two cans a day. I might have snuck in a late night Mountain Dew a time or two too.

The next broken resolution, finish a project, any project. I decided that this was the weekend that I was going to finish James’ afghan.

I’ve been working on it for over two months, and I’m down to the last little bit. I ran out of Boysenberry yarn, so yesterday I headed out to Wal-Mart to see if it was back in stock. It wasn’t, and I don’t know when it will be back. I still want to crochet though.

There goes that resolution.

I started two new projects yesterday. I’m working on a door draft dodger for the front door, and an all green afghan for Dylan. Hopefully the shades of green yarn will stay in stock.

What about you… How are you doing with your new year’s resolutions?

  1. Hang in there, Nico! Not doing so well here either. Haven’t started the cookbook back or read by daily year long Bible reading………. grrrrr. Kind of mad at myself but more depressed than anything. Seeing my “female” doc this coming week in hopes that she can give me some meds to help out. Hugs!

  2. Marva, be patient with yourself after such a time of loss. Nicole, I’m right there with you on the soda. I do only drink a can a day(unless it’s a really rough day) but would love to “free” myself from the extra sugar.

  3. I have never kept a resolution, so I no longer make any. My only “resolution” is that I try to be as kind to myself as I am to others, which is hard when you’re a mom and wife..as you know!
