October’s Crafts

October is always the busiest month around our house. I do try to sneak in a crafting project here and there to keep my hands busy and my mind focused.

I cast on and knitted a Ravenclaw scarf for Agnes.

I started knitting a Gryffindor scarf for Dylan too.

I made a few more teacher gift scarves that are ready to go for Christmas.

I even got out the sewing machine to tackle a big pile of mending.

My craft space is always this messy.

I take along some knitting to do while I’m waiting for the kids to get out of school.

I also started a new crochet project for the holidays.

I’m still working on Dylan’s (and Agnes’) blankets that I had hoped to finish before Autumn.

Seriously, so messy… I’ve got to get the craft nook in a bit of order before Thanksgiving.

I decided to binge out on some netflix, and cast on another Ravenclaw scarf for Agnes.

I did finish crocheting another scrappy blanket for downstairs, just in time too the temperature has really started to drop in Kansas.

The scrappy blanket is extra warm and cozy.

I also finished up knitting Dylan’s Gryffindor scarf, and I had a bunch of yarn ends to weave in.

Now that we are well into November, my mind is busy with Thanksgiving preparation. There is much to do around the house, and even more that needs to be made in the kitchen. The craft table is going to have to be lonely for a bit, so I can get some housework done.

Cough… Cough… Sneeze… Sneeze…

My goodness I am behind on posts, and everything else in my life right now. My oldest kiddo, and my husband, and myself have come down with a very nasty cold/flu. For the last two weeks we have been very ill. Between the brain fog, and constant coughing, I’m just wiped out…

So here’s a picture of Jinx doing what she does best, and I hope to be back to regular posting soon. For now, I’m going to go and crash out of the couch for a bit.

Hello November

As sad as I am to see October’s end (it’s my very favorite month and my favorite holiday), I am really happy to see November arrive. The last two weeks in October are the busiest time of the year in our house, and I’m really ready for everything to slow down a bit.

Jinx and I took the morning off, and caught up on Stranger Things 2 on netflix. I cooked ahead a few meals for the freezer in the afternoon, and attempted to attack the pile of dirty dishes in the kitchen. It was nice to take some time to myself, and snuggle with the kitty.

Maybe tomorrow we’ll be a bit more productive.
