Saturday Morning Earthquake

I was up early this morning, but I wasn’t quite out of bed. I was playing on my phone, when the bed started shaking.

At first I didn’t think it was an earthquake, then I looked over at our houseplant and it was swaying. The house continued to shake for quite a bit. Luckily, the kids slept right through it.

We went outside to check for damage. Everything was fine, but Miss Mia-pup was spazzing out, and Lula was hiding on the porch.

The kids finally got up and going. We went over a few earthquake safety tips just in case there are aftershocks.

It has been a strange Saturday.

Monthly Menu: September

I haven’t posted one of these in quite awhile. When the kids were home for Summer, I planned a few meals, but mostly I just used what I had on hand. We also seemed to live at the grocery store, the kids were snacking or eating a meal about every two hours. Everybody grew so much this Summer, and the dishes never ended.

With the kids back in school, I figure it is time to get back to meal planning, trying my best to stay on budget, and get better organized. I’m also sticking with being a vegetarian. I make regular omnivore-friendly meals for the family, but I eat vegan or vegetarian. Which also means more dishes to wash.

Here’s what I’ve got planned for dinner for my family in September.

The First Day of School

It is the first day of school in our district. We are a little late due to ongoing construction at each of the schools, but the new changes look amazing.

Thade is entering the seventh grade. Dylan is in the fourth grade, and he could not wait to get to school this morning. Agnes is in the first grade this school year.

I am excited for my kiddos and very proud of them too. I can’t wait to hear all about their day.
