Just 10 Days Left

Yesterday I finally got caught up from Thanksgiving. The fridge was properly cleaned out, and the kitchen was cleared of all dirty dishes, also the neglected laundry was all caught up too. I took a little break in there to crochet a bit on two throws. I also started cleaning on the boy’s room, but I didn’t get too far.

We are still finishing up on all of the Christmas to do’s. The big kids have just ten days left of school before the Christmas break. Agnes only has six, so I had better use my time a little more wisely.

James is working a bit this morning, so the kiddos and I are having a quiet morning. I hope to get a few more chores accomplished this morning, and relax for the rest of the weekend.

What about you… What are your weekend plans?

Thrifted Finds

Last Saturday we visited a few favorite local shops in support of Small Business Saturday. I came across some pretty great finds, and most of them were 10%-50% off too.

I got a few pieces of Pyrex to add to the kitchen collection.

I also came across this cute little coffee cup that matches a set of yard sale plates.

I picked up a lot of other items too. It was a lot of fun to do some shopping, and support some pretty fantastic businesses too.

A Little Bit of Christmas

We’ve been decorating a little bit here, and a little bit there. There is still a lot to be done, and Agnes is on me to finish the job.

I still have to get the tree up in the boy’s room, and Agnes’ little tree too. I would also like to find a few decorations for the living-room. Hopefully I’ll get it all done and decorated before Christmas.

November’s Favorite Photos

I just have a few to share. I really didn’t take too many pictures in November. It truly was the month that got away from me.

The kids have become pretty good at dodging my phone… Little stinkers. I’ll have to do better in December.

When I wasn’t cooking, I was crafting. I made hand-crocheted ornaments for Agnes’ preschool class.

They turned out really cute. I hope the little kiddos like them.

I started another throw for the upstairs. It is getting a little chilly in Kansas.

The big kitty celebrated his 15th birthday, he took a lot of naps too.

Miss Mia is already tired of the chilly weather.

She hasn’t been too happy with me whenever she has to go out in the cold mornings.

December is in full swing. We’ve been decorating the house for Christmas, and catching up after Thanksgiving. I hope to get a few more photos this time around.

November’s Tasty Treats

While searching for photos for the month of November, I quickly realized that I hardly took any photos in November… I guess it really was a busy month. I do have a few to share from the kitchen. By the way, the kitchen is still a mess from Thanksgiving. I swear the next house that we live in is going to have a dishwasher, maybe two of them.

I’ve been making a lot of muffins lately. This is a tasty batch of banana ones.

Also, this happened… I have to have at least one when they are back!

Ugh, lazy Sunday morning.

In November I tried out a few new recipes. I used a breadmaker recipe for Coffee-cake.

I used the same recipe to make a quick batch of breadmaker Cinnamon Rolls. They worked out nicely, and cut down the proofing time considerably.

I also tested a batch of Wheat Rolls for Thanksgiving. I love a big pile of dough, just waiting to be made into something tasty.

The rolls turned out beautifully, and the family approved too. The Wheat Rolls were delicious.

Then Thanksgiving happened, and I cooked for four days straight. I was so stinking busy cooking, and cleaning, that I didn’t get any photos to share. I assure you it was tasty, and I made seven pies and two cakes.

Weekend breakfast, leftover Pumpkin Bundt Cake with cream cheese frosting. It was so sweet and tasty.

December is here, and I’m still tired from Thanksgiving. I haven’t started on Christmas cookies just yet, but I am stocked up and ready to go.
