Taking Out The Cookies

I’ve been gone all day today… I had to take lots of yummy cookies to my hubby’s workplace today. They were hosting a lunch. I brought along Chocolate Chip Cookies, Cakerdoodles, and Homemade Milk Chocolate Brownies too.

We didn’t come home with a single cookie. It looks like I am going to have to make some more.

Time to get to all of the home-chores that I missed today.

 

February’s Tasty Treats

 February flew by so quickly. I wasn’t in the kitchen too much. I did make a few tasty treats to share.

I tried Blood Oranges for the first time. I loved them, and so did Dylan.

I made lots of yummy Cupcakes for Dylan’s class.

I also made lots of other cupcakes. Some were for my birthday, some were for Thade’s birthday party redux.

I made some yummy Red Velvet Cupcakes.

We scored an awesome treat. Free Ice Cream on take-out night. We were pretty lucky, and the kids were super happy for the treat.

I made lots of cookies.

Lots and lots of cookies. Giant ones and tiny ones too.

I tested out a recipe for Cream Cheese Bars (a request from my brother). I’m trying to replicate a favorite recipe from a bakery from our childhood. They were pretty close, but not quite it.

They got better on the second day. I’m going to tweak the recipe a bit, and try it out again.

I’m going to be in the kitchen today, baking lots of goodies. I have to take treats for a lunch at my hubby’s workplace tomorrow. I had better get to it.

 

March’s Monthly Menu

Hello March! Seriously, March already?!? I know that February is a short month, but my goodness it went by way too fast.

We are keeping an eye on the weather today. The snow hasn’t hit here just yet, but it looks like it is on the way. I’m using up what we have on hand for the first few days in March, and running to the store once the weather is better.

Last month I slacked off a bit in the kitchen, and that resulted in way too much take-out. This month I’m going to try and do better. I know that will be better for us, and better for the ‘ol budget too.
