I was still sick over the weekend, so I pretty much did a whole lot of nothing. Nothing is nice, but holy moly the house is a mess, and the to do list runneth over.
I really hope this week goes better. I have got to get back to normal, and well.
This week started off with the best of intentions. The boys were back to school, and I was ready to do some serious spring cleaning.
Monday Agnes and I tackled the foyer and dining room. We cleaned out a lot of clutter, rearranged furniture, and swept every nook and cranny.
Tuesday ended up being laundry day. I really needed to get to the store, but the laundry had gotten away from me. I had several loads to out away, and many more that needed to make it’s way to the laundry-room.
Wednesday was Dylan’s birthday. We spent the day wrapping presents, and baking lots of tasty goodies. I made his favorite dinner, and completely trashed the kitchen.
So onto Thursday, I really needed to go to the store, but we spent the morning out of the house looking for siding colors. By the afternoon a big storm was rolling in, and that’s when the migraine arrived. I got the boys home before the storm arrived, but I was miserably sick. James picked up dinner, and I appreciated the break from the kitchen.
I was still sick on Friday. This was one of the bad ones… Finally yesterday afternoon the meds worked, and I had just a little headache. I was finally feeling a bit better, so Agnes and I deep cleaned the fridge. That was an overdue Spring cleaning chore.
After that I was really tired, so I made an easy dinner, and went to bed extra early.
We did make it to the store today. Thank goodness too. I’m feeling a ton better, still a little bit dizzy, but better.
It’s funny, I’ve been waiting for Spring for so long, but the spring storms bring migraines my way. I’m going to need to be better prepared for the next one.
Maybe next week will be a little more productive.
I couldn’t wait any longer… It is time to get to gardening!
We’ve been saving seeds, harvesting seeds, and we picked up a few packets to add to the collection.
I also spotted a few things that need to find a home in my home.
I’ll take one in pink and one in aqua too.
These gnomes cracked me up! I think I need to tuck one of these guys into the strawberries in my front yard.
I’ve been saving seeds from previous gardens. We’ve also been watching the indoor flowers, and gathering seed from them too. This has become a fun task for the kids. Dylan loves to harvest seed, and he even taught Agnes how to separate them.
I like this activity too. It is a quiet one, and it keeps the little ones busy.
Agnes and I started some seeds yesterday. We have a few indoor window-greenhouses that needed filled.
At first Agnes was sad to plant the little seeds. She liked them just the way that they were. I told her that pretty soon, we’ll have baby plants to water, and if we are lucky more seeds to collect. She was a little happier when I handed her a little cup to help with the watering chore.
I hope that we have success starting plants indoors this year. I’m ready for some fresh veggies!
We had a few nice days, and the calendar said that it was officially Spring. I guess Kansas had other plans though.
It started snowing like crazy last night…
Oh goodness, I am so done with this cold weather…
The Daffodils were encased in ice this morning, but they have perked up now that the sun is out. I really hope that was the last snow storm for the season, but you never know.
