Yard Sale Finds

One sunny warm day we spotted a yard sale close to home. Dylan, Agnes, and I decided to walk to it after school was out. It is one of my favorite ones too. They have the yard sale often, and it is run by the cutest little ladies who are raising funds for their church. The ladies are always kind, and they have some terrific bargains too.

The kids came home with several toys. I think they were 5 for $1.00. I also found a wooden bedside table for Dylan for just $3.00. I picked up several vintage sheets, pillowcases, and some yarn too. I think I spent a little over $7.00 when my buys were tallied up.

So far I am coming across some pretty good finds this Spring yard sale season. I keep looking for that perfect Pyrex bowl. What are some of your favorite things to look for at yard sales?

Summer Sewing Projects

My craft table is a bit messy.

It is a good messy though. I’ve got several projects planned for Summer. Some are home related, but the ones I am working on now are all about sewing and crochet.

I’ve started another afghan for Agnes. She spotted some yarn while shopping with Grandma, and now I have lots of pretty pink yarn to work with.

I’m also making a dress for Agnes. I haven’t sewn in a long time, or cut out a pattern either. I’ve wanted to make clothing for Agnes ever since she was little, but I just haven’t had the time.

I’ve also started a housewarming gift for my brother and his girlfriend. I’m making a big granny square blanket for the two of them.

Summer Has Arrived

Summer has arrived, and the kiddos are extra happy about it!

I’m already tired, and far behind on my housework….

The Messiest Room

The messiest room in the house, just happens to be my favorite one…

There are projects everywhere.

There are books piled everywhere too.

The big kitty loves to nap there.

The kids wake us up extra early on the weekends via lightsabers.

Agnes loves to play dress-up there too.

In case you haven’t guessed it, the messiest room is our bedroom. It is the smallest room with mismatched curtains, and walls in need of a paint job. This last weekend, we took some time and worked on the messiest room in the house.

We moved out furniture, took down the curtains, and taped all over the place. We primed the walls, and already the white primer was a nice improvement.

We didn’t stop there though. We invested in new curtains for the room, and we painted the walls. We used Sherwin-Williams Obi Lilac for the walls, and I love the soothing tone of this color.

There is still a bit of work to be done in the room, but we are off to a great start. I love the new color, it has really changed the look of our bedroom.
