The Pumpkin Patch

022

A week ago I took the kiddos to the Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch. The weather was beautiful, and the pumpkin patch proceeds went to a great cause. You could buy tickets for rides, food, and pumpkins and all of the proceeds went to Relay for Life. It was a fun day with the kiddos.

0031

Thade had already had a class field-trip to the Pumpkin Patch, so he knew all of the cool places to check out.

0042

The Little Miss was happy and enjoying the windy weather.

0051

Thade helped Agnes find the perfect pumpkin.

0063

Dylan found one too, but at this point he was over the pumpkins, he wanted to ride the train.

013

The train was so fun, the boys had to ride  it twice .

020

There was a petting zoo with the biggest bunny I have ever seen.

030

There were lots of pretty Mums for sale. Agnes wanted one so bad, I think she just wanted to eat it though.

035

The boy’s each had spiders painted on their cheeks.

036

It was a lovely way to spend a windy Fall day.

September’s Tasty Treats

You know my kitchen has been really busy, and it’s just the start of Autumn. I love to bake bread, cakes, muffins, and of course cookies in Autumn. September brought a cookie catering gig, and I got out the bread maker too.

012

I made a big batch of Homemade Cinnamon Rolls, Dylan and James helped out a bit too.

0121

Oh yeah, Chocolate Ganache Topped Brownies too.

005

I needed to make 15 dozen cookies for a cookie catering gig, so I made Chocolate No Bakes

0041

Cakerdoodles

0062

Candy Bar Cookies

0122

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies (the kiddos new favorite)

015

and Caramel Apple Oatmeal cookies too.

018

James also wanted a batch of Coconut Macaroons, but those were just for us at home.

002

I’ve also been using the bread maker all the time. I love to serve a fresh loaf of bread with dinner.

October is going to bring a lot of treats too. I’m still trying to figure out what to make for our anniversary, and I’ll be making some homemade Vanilla Cupcakes for Agnes first birthday. Then there is James birthday, and two more cookie catering gigs too. It looks like it will be another busy month in the kitchen.

The Tractor Parade 2010

003

Every years towards the end of September there is a parade to kick-off the Pioneer Harvest Fiesta. It isn’t too far from our house, so I loaded up the stroller and  the kids and I walked to the parade this year.

0061

Agnes liked the walk, but she was a little nervous once the parade got started.

027

My hubby got there too, he had to work late, so he met us there.

039

There were local mascots.

058

054

The Trolley

056

and our favorite neighbor too.

There were great floats,

065

but mostly there were tractors.

045

048

059

lots and lots of tractors.

060

The boys loved the parade, and I have to say it is one of my favorites too.

Oh My October!

006

Oh my goodness, this is one crazy month!

Towards the end of September, I started filling out the calendar for October, and haven’t stopped yet. This October is looking like one super crazy-busy month. So far I’ve counted only 2 Tuesday’s and 2 Thursday’s that we have absolutely nothing scheduled… Most days there are 2-3 activities to get to, and with both boys in school, the constant running is non-stop.

I also have a cookie catering gig this month, 2 birthday’s and our anniversary too. I need another cup of coffee when I look at the calendar. It is going to be a crazy month.

Do you have any tips to share when you are facing an extra-busy schedule?
